We are just confirming for those interested RPW has just fitted the 294mm front brake upgrade to the front of our TT Magna and it bolts up fine.
The kit includes the following
(A) A LH and RH Knuckle arm assembly
(B) Twin piston caliper (Optional and recomended)
(C) EBC Kevlar brake pads (Green stuff) for the twin piston caliper
(D) New backing plates
(E) New slotted rotors 294mm (Stock is 276mm)
The kit bolts right up and takes around 3 hours on average but with others may take longer Don't recomend doing it at home as you need to swap the front wheel bearings across into the new hub axle.
For those interested feel free to contact me or Blake as this is a fantastic package and really fills out those wheels some more.

We are working on the 320mm larger rotor but a this stage we are completing the 294mm kit first.
No photo's yet but Blake is coming aruond today so I will try to contact him and get him t bring his camera adn take some photo's for me.
They look the sme as standard but just a much larger rotor and the calipers are nice big twin system.
No we don't have prices on our website - but pm or email me for tha tifnormation.

Great news we just completed the fitting to the vehicle and a number of components we thought we needed we don't.
The kit bolts straight onto the origonal hub and no longer needs the hub or the backing plate which drops the price down tremendousely.

I might come for a drive and see you on Saturday morning - have a few queries I would like to discuss!!

And that'd be the same for the TR too wouldn't it Dave, as you once told me that they share the same brakes?
Mitsiman

They should be the same for teh TR Model as well yes although I can't confirm the physical fitment as much but it should be no problem.

We have been spending all day on this and have finally been able to complete the packaging.
Here it is in a summary
(A) Option 1 - using stock size rotor 276mm diameter we can offer a slotted rotor, EBC kevlar brake pad and a twin piston caliper upgrade for on average $995.00 incl GST. Price will vary slightly due to import costs on the brake caliper - this is a 2nd hand brake caliper.
Unfortunatly except for the brake pads the twin piston caliper above is only suitable for the above size rotor. This woudl be a large improvement over the stock setup especially in terms of stopping power.
(B) Option 2 - using the larger rotor 294mm diameter with a twin piston caliper (Different model caliper to above), EBC Kevlar brake pads this is valued on average $1070.00 again variations in import charges.
(C) Option 3 - using the largest rotor 320mm diameter with a four piston pot caliper Brembo package - no pricing yet but this could be done we beleive - this will probably end up on our magna in several months time when we source a 2nd hand set of calipers for the purpose of our own car only.
(D) Option 4 - using a blank rotor of 350mm diameter with either a twin or four pot piston caliper - but this would be complete custom time anyway.
The TT Magna engine is 1/2 built we are yet to finish the heads which is the hold up at this moment.

any approx prices on the 320mm upgrade? will there need to be any upgrades of the cylinders at all? some of those would fill out the VRX rims quite nicely!
Mitsiman

Those are supply prices only - takes around 1 1/2 hours to do the fitting and bleeding of brakes.
I can not even give an approximation on the 320mm package yet as we still have not even got all the pricing and Brembo calipes are not cheaply found.

Can you put the discs from the front on the rear of the car? I want the 294mm brake kit, but I would rather use my front ones on the back than to have them sitting in my garage collecting dust.

Is this for front only or does it cover all 4 wheels?
If it Doesnt cover all four wheels... what are rear brake options?

Nah you cant because the rear discs have a big hub in the middle for the handbrake. :(

I think they keep the rears as single pot calipers and upgrade the rotors. Don't know about the pad size.

What about slotted or drilled rotors with the upgrade to 294mm?
Killbilly

AFAIK Big Bob, the larger rotor is an EBC Dimpled and slotted rotor.
Instead of drilling through it, they make dimples in it..which effectively do the same job as x-drilled. degassing, deglazing and all that but you have the strength of a non drilled disc.

Slotted and cross-drilled rotors work better than stock rotors, seeing they de-glaze and cool down quicker. Problem is they can crack between holes because of stress. This only occurs usually after lap 5 at any of your local race tracks. If you wanna race hard for 20 laps go slotted, if you wanna stop quick and get awsome street credit (like myself) go slotted and cross-drilled :D

Ok so the RPW 294mm rotors are dimpled and slotted. I'm ready for them ,but what about the rear rotors? Also does the kit come with s/s braided lines.

Okay to answer everyones questions
(A) There is only a front brake upgrade kit only at this time. This is a 294mm front rotr that is slotted only. They are not cross drilled as someone has already explained, the cross drilling causes the rotors to crack even on the street (I use to use them and all my customers kept coming back).
The package does not include stainless steel lines only standard Mitsubishi but we can make them if you wanted them but for a street car it would raise the price and is not necessary unless racing the car.
(B) The rear discs at this time are only available as a stock rotor size with slotted EBC rotors. We will be looking into larger rear packages but that is a low priority at this moment because we are moving onto finishing off a 276mm front lancer rotor package and then the FTO 294mm rotor package.
The 320mm rotor package I have got some approximate pricing of being around $3000.00 with four pot brembo calipers etc.

Okay I have one word to a say about these brakes
AWESOME
They are amazing - the twin piston 295mm rotors with EBC Kevlar pads stop on a dime, have a great pedal and have a tonne of bite - and I havn't even driven them hard yet.
You can really feel the difference and whilst I would love to offer people a quick spin in the TT Magna to feel the difference - I think by the time I did that I would be out of brakes.
I cannot recomend these enough - even just the twin piston brake caliper brake upgrade is a good jump up from standard from feedback of customers so far.
So if you are considering - don't hesitate - place yuor order now whilst we have access to the brake calipers at reasonable prices.
