Just had my 2000 Exec TJ serviced by Mitsi dealer, who also cleaned the throttle body. Car seems to be running slightly better, but fuel consumption is up... can anyone sugget what the cause is? (No I haven't been gunning it more now that it's running better!!)

ummm, fair comment Turbo old chap...except that the thread you referred me to has nothing to do with my problem.

There has been no change to the gearbox characteristics, hence I do not think invecsII is the problem. I was hoping for some advice on the throttle body clean aspect, and whether this has done something to up fuel consumption.

I doubt that the throttle body clean did alything as all it does is remove the thin layer if grime from the throttle body butterfly. The cause of the fuel consumption problem must be elsewhere.

Have you just done more city driving recently which can give the impression of increased fuel consumption?

Blake.

Blake - no, driving is exactly as it was before, lots of city driving. Except that now trip computer is showing an average of 14-15 ltrs / 100kms as opposed to the 11-12 ltrs it was before. I filled up today and reset the trip computer but it is still showing high. I guess I go back to Mitsu and get them to fix it, but just wondered if I could get a handle on it first. Thanks for the constructive reply by the way.

hmm after reading another thread bout the increasing fuel usage im one of the them that have noticed just out of no where my fuel usage has sky rocketed, from 500km a tank down to 300km a tank, and i drive less n stuff..

i could however have a different reason for this.. but meh
