hey guys know i know that many people ask this question but im having drama's understanding it in more depth.

most agree that you "need" a specific mitsubishi pod filter to over come the usual drama's ever1 encounters after installing a non "mitsubishi pod".

my question is:does every magna have this drama or is a sort of "luck of the draw" sort of thing.one magna might do it,the other one wont sort of thing.
i have a 4'pod filter and adaptor to suit a mitsubishi size(off an older car),i will be running Cold air induction properly, and i want to know will i have this drama with all this done properly.(i may even have to intall it 1st to find out if it will stall etc)

i will be putting it on a 2002 Tj magna,tip-tronic. if i do have drama's wear can i buy the proper pod?i live in brisbane

thanks for the help

K&N filters make a filter which they claim is designed with the mitsubishi MAF sensor in mind. I won't go into details.... but apparently being oval makes it good. I don't know the K&N part number off the top of my head (the search button might serve you well) but any decent spare parts retailer *should* be able to figure out which one to order in if you mention the words: TJ Magna Mistubishi K&N Pod Filter and Oval.

good luck.

it's to do with the swirl of the air a normal pod would create. The K&N oval pod filter for the Mitsubishi is specially designed to straighten out the air coming in so when it pass through the honeycombe MAF sensor, it can read the air density properly and not be skewed to have more air in the middle and less on the outside of the sensor and thus causing it to read less air than what's is there. This is why you get your car stalled when idling since it is getting more fuel than air.
