Haven't heard anyone do it before, suspect they are different coding.

Sounds like there are trying to rip you off.
If the Verada remote is the same as the single button Magna remote (AW348878)
should be about $50.00

No they can't unfortantly.
My KE verada didn't come with any remote at all.
I tried to program one of my Dads spare TJ magna remotes but it didn't work.

The KE's had the single button remote. You can get them from any dealer for like $40 - $50. Dont pay any more. $270. What a joke. The KH onwards i think went to the 3 button one. You cant interchange the different controllers with the different cars.

I got two new remotes for my verada KF XI. The remotes for the KE and KF XI are $210 and that's a fact. The XI remotes have got a special chip to activate the electric seats in the diamante I have been told. We do not require these extra funtions as we don't have this, but we still get there stupid expensive remote. My mate put an aftermarked alarm on his car, so he sold me his two brand new remotes for $70 bucks. If you can't get a remote cheap, might be better to put an aftermarket alarm on. (ask around the forums)

Probably stores the "memory" for the seat's position.
Different key = different seat position stored for that driver.

Yeah thats what I meant to say. It has a chip for the memory seat funtions built into it. Maybe jump on ebay.com and see if you can get one shipped from the us cheap.

Some really good locksmiths can reprogram your Keyless entry remote. Try asking them. The're not cheap, like 50 bucks? Beats 210 bucks though.

hmmm... ill see how i go. the key works good for now! :bowrofl:
thats trippy....
Its quite usual to have the key activate the stored memory seat positions what you will find even more trippy is at work on the audi A8's it is done off a fingerprint scanner and t also does personolized radio station presets A/C controls sat nav etc,
Also in regards to why later remotes won't work it is generally the frequencies get changed as more info has to be transmitted Eg:1 button for unlock/lock may be 100mhz 3 buttons unlock, lock, and boot may have a higher frequency Eg:433mhz, Hope this helps.

that is roughly the correct price for that part. 3 button 2 grey 1 orange...you should be able to code the single button peanut shaped remote in no sweat....unfortunately the green red grey later style remotes will not code in as the run a different reciever system in th onwards.
