I have just had my transmission rebuilt by a local company (no drive). Now that it is fixed the original long term problem, cluncking into top gear and also into low gear. The repairer has had the wiring checked and still gets scan code 22. They indicate that I must now change the transmission computer as they do not know what is wrong. Does anyone know where I can get one or pay to borrow one to test. They say that it is my cost even if the computer is not the fault. The cost is getting out of control may be more than the car is worth.
PS Is there somewhere I can work out which units would be compatible with the unit I have ( see markings below)

Any other help would be greatfully apprecicated.

The TCU is located under the centre console almose under the heater box. Most self serv take the ecu out however some leave the TCU there because they do nto know it exists.

I have just had my auto tranny looked at for a similar problem on my TR and they quoted me $3000 for a new transmission computer, but also mentioned that a guy in perth reconditions them for $900 (exchange). I then asked one of my mates who is in the industry for a mates rates quote and he came back with $400 (cost price apparently)
After all of this I took it to an auto trans mechanic and he told me that he just reset the computer and it seems to be running fine now.
Dont know if they have anyone in your state who does a similer thing (exchange) but hope this helps.
good luck
