Hey guys, i know this has been asked a lot but would appreciate it if someone would answer me a question, taking into account my future plans and listening needs :)

Only have 4 speakers in my car - plan on leaving the rears as they are, but adding an amp and 15" sub at some stage. With that said, i listen to mainly pop / techno, but i do appreciate quality sound more than deep doof doof, thus, i want the best sounding speakers in the front.

With the above in mind, what speakers would you recommend in the front - 2 ways, 4? if so, what brand / make ?
Id be willing to spend around $500, but only if i knew i was buying something that was very good quality and would be huge improvement over stock speakers - otherwise ill keep saving till i can get this

PS Stimulate, im counting on you :bowrofl:

Thx guys!

Anything is a huge improvment over stock speakers.

Maybe if you could stretch to $619 you could get Diamond Audio M661's

Under that

Morel Pulse 6 $349 or
Morel Dotech MRII 5 $449

Sure theres heaps more brands , Bostons for instance may suit your apllication.

But that would get ya statred to think about something. Tell ya now anything worth $500 is oging to be a huge improvment on the $30 buck stock speakers

Hey mate,

Ive heard

HERTZ High energy HSK165 splits - 329 Awesome sound with a reasonable amp behind them for the price.

Clarion SRX1785 - 499 depending where you go. These are a little bigger than 6.5" but sound impressive.

Pioneer TSC160r - 399 Depending where you go. Good midbass - silk dome tweeter good for pop techno not to bright like piezo or titanium tweeters.

Hope this helps. I currently have the clarions, pushed by a rockford amp 60wrms each component, and they keep up vocals with my 15" sub no trouble. Clear sound with good mid to high levels and tweeter doesnt annoy you when you have a techno track on, say a Skitz mix compilation.

Soz been on holidays for the last few days :)

If you're after quality... Dynaudio 240 gt's

One of the best car audio packages in the world.

There's a few going second hand at www.caraudioaustralia.com for $500 second hand. Well worth it.

You could get the price down to $450 prob.
Also take into account the install. If you're planning on spending big, they will sound Sh!t in Magna doors without a lot of time money and effort on sound deadening. The Dyn's will handle some serious power and be crystal clear (You will need an amp)

As for subs, the dyn's should be able to keep up with a 15, but will require a lot of sound deadening to handle that sort of midbass in your doors. Aim to spend $100 - $150 on each door if done by pro's. Around $150 on the lot if you do it yourself.

Best bet is to get out there and find some retailers so you can audition. How much can you afford on installation, how much can u do urself?
-How loud do you like it?
-When u say u like 'quality' do you have an appreciation for music already? I find people who play instruments/are into music, will appreciate better instrumental sounds. But many people who go to clubs etc like loud pumping midbass. Neither are bad things. All about personal choice

Peace

Tim
