Hey all my friend has a 2002 model Magna. For some reason its developed a vibration. Basically when driving down any road even when its smooth theres seems to be a vibration quicker with higher speeds. It feels like a wheel is lose or something but bumpyness is felt thought the whole cabin but wouldnt call it harsh. Also the steering wheel sometimes wiggles side to side when taking certain corners, i mean 2cm to left ten 2cm to right!
so whats the problem? I didnt take a close look at car, wheels are in order and secured. Could it be a tie rod end or some ball joint??
thanks

mines got a vibration to but only at 110k's no other speeds, the cabin mainly front shakes can feel it under ur feet...
i posted a thread ages ago but got no replys... so i still dont know what it is
but in saying that urs vibrates all the time maybe just need to be re-aligned balanced or rim might be buckled havent hit any gutters lately...
apart from that good luck hopefully someone might have solved this probably be able to help out on what and where its coming and caused from

just take it in for a wheel alignment and balance you've brobably had a weight fall off or something, get under there and have someone rock the steering from side to side and check for any slop in the tie rod ends.

Yeah my TS V6 started to vibrate through the cabin today! At first I thort it was a bumpy road, but it was doin it on smooth surfaces also! It's givin me the ****s!! I'm gonna take it to me local Bridgestone Tuesday and get it checked out, coz it was vibrating, shuddering a fair bit today, especially when I go over 70-80km! I no I have a split in one of the engine mounts, don't think it would be that.......!
Cheers all

If the steering wheel vibrates left to right it's a wheel balance. It vibrates more the faster you go. Check your tyres for uneven wear. Wearing out on the inside or outside of the tread indicates wheel alignment. If it was wheel bearings you would hear it not feel it. Warped disc rotor you would feel when you hit the brakes lightly, they would shudder.

step 1 - look start at the basic end a balance, if this dont work look at geting checked out,
step 2 - look a steering arms
step 3 - in the stering system, I belive there is a box that converts the steering in the car to the wheels (not part of powere /s) this can wear, its a box full of gears and also has a adjustment device, so try it first. Poor fiting may have reduced its life. dam un-safe at high speeds. were to find on a magna? sorry but the common spot is just on bay side of the fire wall - follow the steering if you can.
Good luck with it

:stoopid:
front wheels out of balance can also be noticable as a vibration in the steering wheel at specific speeds only.
start with the cheapest and most obvious first - Wheel Balance costs about $20 for 4 wheels.
get them to check the front end over while your there, this way you will know if anything else is wrong.
If you have to replace any steering or suspension parts get a wheel alignment after.
If the front end is in good order you might want to consider getting a wheel alignment anyway (about $40) to maximise tyre life.
