hi i have just started to install my car stero into my tj series 2 magna.
few issues..
first and formost i have installed a fair few car stero systems in the past and i can now safely say magna's are the most stupid cars to take head units out of,remove the back seat and just about every other aspect of car stero.however they sound awesome when installed correctly due to good build.
i have 2 cadence amps and a kicker solo baric i wanna install in the boot.can people post some pics of car stero's boot installs and wear they have installed their amps.preferable if they have pics of it in the 'build'

when i installed the new head unit there was a 'illumination' wire comming form the head unit...what the hell is this for..
after installing the head unit i have encountered a problem.the lights behind all whe switches (in the centre part of the console)dont work, however the insturmant cluster does?when i turn the a/c on the little green light on the button illuminates and works?why has this happened?is this to do with the 'illumination' wire fromt he head unit?could i have knocked a wire loose?is so wear would it be?
this is from a 02 tj magna and yes,i have checked the fuses?

hey thanks for the help.i found the problem regarding the console lights.
thanks for the "boot install' thread, but the problem i have is that my sub box is really big and so are the amps powering the speakers and sub itself.its hard to fit everything in
i have no idea of wear to put them...you see they dont fit just behind the tail lights either because one of the amps is too big

I attached my amps to the back of my sub box ( so when you open the ski hole in the middle of the back seats you can see it there plus u can adjust gains etc easier) i havent had any iwssues with heat at all, i dont have a pic sorry but if u want i can take one ??

just a question..doesnt your sub rattle the shat out of your amp?
i have thought of doing that but im scared it will rattle it too much or wreck the electronics inside the amps?
at $700 an amp i dont wanna root em up

the illumination wire is to do with the dimmer switch for the dash lights. With the original stereo, if you dim your dash lights, the stereo lights should dim too. This is all that wire does.

I have rubber spacers to absorb most of the shakes but i havent had ANY trouble with any of my amps one is a Apline V12 and the other is a cheapo USAUDIO job not one problem over the past 3 years
Just a option for you mate :)
