I was thinnking of turning my Stock 6x9's into splits by just adding a crossover and Tweeter..
I was going to mount the Tweeters where the rear Child restraint plugs used to be ( Someone Pulled them out before I owned the car) any Idea's would be welcomed..

I am Tempted to do the same with the fronts ..
So for $30 I could have a better Quality set up that would still look stock..

If you're looking for good quality speakers on a tight budget, why not give the Hertz Dieci speakers a run?

We do them all the time and they sound fantastic with a little deadening behind them! :D

Well it is done..

I used a Magnat Bull power Cross over and a Clarion Tweeter from their SRS1325 Splits and did a little re-wiring to the stock speaker..
The results are very suprising.
The Stock Speaker handles the lows with relative ease and the Clarion Tweeter is very crisp and bright..
I do not expect them to last for an eternity but they are a very nice and clear sounding set up..
I am proud of my achievement..
I still cannot manage to get one of my Speaker covers to go back on properly.. But it is hardly noticible and has been this way since I bought the car.

How do I go about wiring up a set of tweeters into the stock positions at the front, I know the plugs come out, Just how do I get the wires??
Do I drop wire down through the hole and see where it drops out ??

While my Current setup is nice sounding I am going to upgrade in the future ..
What companies make shallow cast 6x9's ??
Ones that will fit in with the factory grilles on top so it looks stealth ??

Boston do, I have the NX97 and they sound great and are really shallow because they use neodymium magnets so no probs with installing them.

I fitted some JL Audio 6x9's into my fathers car and the stock grill fits on perfectly. I bought the JL's from JB Hi-Fi.

I've got Infinity Kappa 6x9 which are massive and they fit no probs my my car. Granted it is a pretty tight fit when you actually take a look. :)
