i might be buying a '94 magna tr wagon with the 3l v6.
anyone had one or knows someone who had one or anytthing? i'm after any comments on usefullness etc.
the 3rd row of seats seams to be a factory option and reasonably well designed. but i'm unsure.

anyone?

you the same ddt that owns the 6cyl sigma?
by the way theres plenty of tr or ts wagons avail in trades or papers, most are base model, plus you can get universal 3 seats to fit in the rear from companys

yep same ddt!
the 6cyl sigma will probably make way for a more "sensible" car.
i tried to convince the wifey that the troop carrier should be *her* car so i could keep my beast, but i failed.
so looks like i'll have do the sensible thing and buy a magna wagon myself... (ahem) -and put huge rims, colur coded bumpers, some parabolics, extractors....

i didn't know you could get aftermarket seats put in. i wonder how they sort out the seat belt anchors..
ideally i would like one designed like the w123 early 80s mercedes wagons where the 3rd row of seats folds into the floor. so if you need to, you can fold down the second row flat too and cram heaps of junk in. (like after a visit at ikea).
i've been looking for a merc wagon too but there's not many around.
and i prefer how the seats fold up in this magna compared to a falcon 7 seater i saw.
maybe i'll keep looking- but i kind of like the mag-wag.

your in perth from memory yes? havent bothered checking ure details
but in NSW we have a book called the open road done by the NRMA, dunno if any other state has it, but they always have compaies that do that kinda thing, and if ure a member u get discounts. but there are other cheaper companies
the belt gets sorted out by them being bolted to the frame, they are only lap sash. they are completely approved, and legal, just peoples opinions on safety and blah..... but you can find 4x4 shops that do that kinda stuff, and they do do wagons as well. check the yellow pages and all. to find a car with a factory one in would be a needle in a hay stack.

pity bout ure sigma, loved watching the clips and all :D

I don't know about WA but here in nsw extra seats have to be engineer approved to pass rego. there should be an extra "modifications" plate somewhere if it has been engineered.

If you want a wagon with a third row that folds flat then volvo 2 and 7 series wagons had them too (if you can handle being seen in one)

yeah.. i know.. *sigh*
the volvo 7 seaters work that way, but i can't afford a late enough model to avoid the ugly front ends those 80s things had. 90s ones look okay and i even like volvos from the 60s.
for 20 years they lost it there. they just CAN'T be made to look cool. i can't sell my v6 sigma for a volvo wagon -that's too much of a cold water shock for me.

have to be engineer approved
Absolutely, if you're looking at one with seats already in it, make well and truly sure that it's a factory thing (did they exist?) or has a full engineering certification, 'cause otherwise it's worse than useless, you'll have to completely rip it out and start again, with either an engineer checking it out every step of the way, or a certified place doing the whole lot.
