Anyone recently had a windscreen replaced on a 3rd Gen? How much and where was it done?

Instant windscreens I think it was. I have a small leak in the top of my TH windscreen because the person who had it before had it replaced and they didn't do the best job, anyway the lady said that to reseal it would be $50 but if the windscreen broke whan they took it out then it would cost $150. I asked her what the normal cost of replacement was and I'm sure she said it was $220 or $230.

Think i paid about $130 for a new one in my KH. Has the mitsubishi stamp on it and all but Mitsubishi didn't do the job.

Most windscreen fitters offer a mobile fitting service at no extra charge. I paid $180 for a TR /S screen fitted on-site in Sydney. I have seen them as cheap as $140 fitted in Newcastle but I think these cheap screens are inferior quality glass and are more prone to cracking from rock hits. try ringing around the local ones in the yellow pages and getting quotes.

Jeesh I'm amazed - I thought this was going to be a $500 job. Thanks I'll try getting some quotes next week when everything is back open.

Me too! Out of interest, what are the side windows worth?

side windows can be expensive as there usually only available as a genuine part or secondhand from the wreckers

Yeah I was thinking of just ringing them as they have a good rap - I see that if you have dual airbags its a 6 hour wait for the glue to dry on the screen before you can drive the car. Charming!
