hey guys still trying to do the finisheing touches to the stero.i have a tj.
i am up to the dreaded parcell shelf.
my 6x9's dont fit so im gonna screw some mdf to the underside of the shelf, cut a hole and screw it in that way.has any1 else not been able to fit there 6x9's in b4?

but i have a question. i have kicker 3 ways.i have a old set of kicker splits that i still have the cross overs and tweeters. can i add these to the 6x9 or will it make it sound like crap?

if it works then it should be good cos i have somethign planned for the tweeter

It all depends on the crossover and your drivers. The crossover would probably have preset frequency roll-offs for each outputs which would have been tuned to go with the original splits. The 6x9's drivers may have a totally different response to the splits so using the crossover network from the splits and using that on the 6x9's would probably end up nice and horrible.

Of course having a properly made crossover network rather then just using capacitors to filter out certain frequencies would be hell lot better. So your better option would be to work out the response of each driver on the 6x9 and then create a crossover network from scratch. If you're smart enough then you can also modify the crossover network from the splits if you know what you are doing.
