ok, I'm looking into making the fibreglass stuff for my car. which in the end will be new interior and front and rear bumpers. but I need something small to start off with.
My thoughts on what to do are vague because there's nothing in the car I want to replace atm that wouldnt be replaced for the end job.
This grille I have in mind to do I would not keep as my finished bumper will incorp a grille. so a design that perhaps someone wants for there car or something?
Basically any suggestions for a design, or even something else all toghether from a grille, like eyedlids or a larger spoiler for the tailgate.... anything really
I'm not gonna jump into making the kit or interior till im 100% confident, so if anyone wants a custom grille or something suggest it, and I could make it to get my skills up. TY

BTW: I wouldnt make them terribly bodgey that a 5yr old coulda done better, I'd put 100% into it to get better for my kit and all later on. so there'd be no junk made!

you could have my front lip if i get it repaired and when i get my custom front. i dont have a sedan now to measure the rear.....

ill take the front lip if u want. ive lost all hope of finding a kit up here. rang around the wreckers 2day, noone had any at all. this is 6 different wreckers, 2 jap spares places and the other 4 just the normal wreckers

in my effort to make my magna look like a xf falcon, im after a the body kit of the magna, i missing some mud guards, that grill that looks like the xf falcons (or which ever came first) body wise

hahahaha, you know some people try to take weight out of the car, in an effort to make it go faster.... you tho, hahaha, and i knew ud throw ure old falcon in there somewhere, lol
still got no ideas for a grille, i had 1 idea, but photochopped it, and oh hell was it hideous. lol
imagine MITUBISHI with a tri diamond within the U and thats the grille. sounded good, but would look hideous.current thought is some kind of backing with an inlet and then a huge tri diamond in the middle connecting the top and bottom

i think the grill is ok stocko, but i do know you cant begin with a whole kit! maybe design a nice scoop? i'd be in for that...

I can only make stuff that i can actually mould it to, or involve it in my car, i'm not gonna cut a hole to make a scoop.... hence why i chose the grille......
another thing i'm gonna make, which this might be an easy starter and get a few people interested
you know on the wagons tailgate how it goes straight down in a dogleg curve. i had a thought a while ago to add a lip underneath the window that hugs the sides of the tailgate to make it look smoother. ill see if i can adobe it.

ok thought of a grille design, i will adobe it first, but what i have in mind is a grille, that will extend past the headlights and fit snuggly against the bumper, so it looks incorporated.

I cannot think of anything decent to do that actually comes up good in adobe, but then again prob looks hideous in adobe coz i suck at it. hehe,
so i'm gonna just make anything, first thing that comes to my head, and if someone wants it, they can have it cheap, prob like the cost of the materials, which is nothing.
i might try and adobe some headlight eyelids, but in a far better way that the eyelids on the elite living near me, kinda like the old falcon xr6

if ur looking for inspiration for some sort of front bumper + grill in one, u might wanna play nfs underground, as thats full of that stuff (obivously some of its ricey, but some of it actually looks ok on certain cars)

I havent really been able to have a really good look at the normal kit for the magna, so i wouldnt have a clue on how to improve it :(

edit: just thinking how the nose would look if from the black bumper bit if it was to go straight down, rather than go back toward the wheels, sorta like the mark3 supras

the auto shifter is staying where it is, and im makcing the console to fit

its going to have a lot of strange angles for 1 sheet of tin, so im likely to make it into 3-4 parts and screw em together

then im covering the whole thing in some spare material (cloth sorta but not as soft, but softer than carpet :P)

fibreglass me one, but after i make a basic model, plus i want it put in before my trip down south so all my wires arent exposed to clumsy ppl :P

Dude, I dont see the point of trying to make a Magna look like an XF. I dont think there is a Magna grille that looks like the XF. The only one I could think of is the EB/XG which is a mailbox type with the ford badge in the centre. In that case - what you want is a TN GLX/Exec or Elante one.

y do i wanna make it look like a falcon, cos that was my first car, and i obviously grew up liking fords, but i had to sell it prematurely as i didnt know anyone here in nsw to check if it would get thru rego, and my dad/bro were tipping toward that it wouldnt. SO basically, i havent gotten over the loss :redface:

(currently, my magna kills my old falcon in acceloration upto 40-50, prolly cos of the auto, but the old falcon would get to 170 ALOT quicker and not die when going up steep hills. When the magna can beat all those, ill forget about my falcon)

I used to love Fords till I got the Magnas, I prefer them now. I still like the Fords but if I had to pick Magna or Falcon the Magna would win everytime.
