Hey guys,

I have a TH Magna 3.5L, and im getting a bit sick of the standard exhaust, when I rev it i wanna hear something......All i'm really looking for is an increase in the sound coming out the back, I dont want it overpowering, and Im not looking to increase power or whatever. From what point in the whole exhaust system do i have to start changing to just get a nicer sound from it?

Can anyone recommend any brands or prices, and I'm not looking for a huge cannon or anything, basically just one pipe prolly 3 inch or something......Cheers

cannon balls suit the magna well, just get a cat back at this moment im led to believe that the stock cat is quite alright.
If you have extractors and a nice cai and panel filter it'll sound awesome or sound quite good with just cat back...

Yeh, I would get a cannon, but I'm really trying to keep a stock look....So I am really looking at just a cat back system hey? WHat do these start from?

get a redback muff or something, lukey, magnaflow and redback seem to be popular, and still have a stock-ish look. stuff cat-back piping :P get extractors

Well, i paid around $800 for my system. 2.5" piping, Berklee High Performance muffled resonator, 2 x Berklee High Performance straight-through mufflers and 2 x Chrome twin tips.
But if you dont want it overpowering, i would go just 1 x twin tip, 1 x Berklee High Performance muffler (not straight through) and the Berklee High Performance muffled resonator. Sounds awesome. Got that low rumble at idle and sounds awesome during driving. :)
Oh, and change pipe to 2.5". ;)

Should cost you around $400 - $500 maybe?

Or just get a lukey muffler, round $250-$300 fitted with tip of your choice. Will make a bit more noise and look pretty stock. Do a search there have been many posts before.

ive got 2.5" all the way through with a lukey muffler. that cost me $300, so your looking at $250 - $300 and she'll sound sweet.
i got it from mindarie custom exhaust, but im in perth im not sure where your from, but the price should be close to that

if you want a subtle roar definatly not overpowering i cannot recomend the LR2779 ENOUGH! it sounds nice and smooth at idle, barely noticable but u notice if your listening for it. but when you open it up it has a lovely smooth ROAR, not a sloppy wet fart, a beautiful note.

all i can say is its a shame there isn't enough room under my cahrade or ide have one

Ive got a TH as well, and want to do the same thing. I just want a nice note, but NO droning at any revs, specially at 60kph and 110kph.
Stuff doing the piping, the TH has just under 2.5" mandrel bent anyway, so its not really worth the money.
A lot of people recommend the Lukey, but do they drone at all? Ive had enough of droney exhausts!

I think the Canons are bit too noisy for u, u didn't want anything too loud?
Lukey has 2 types, bolt-on and larger one, which requires welding. Cost? Ammm....
I have XForce, stainless oval can, very free flow, noisier than Lukey, but not as loud as canons are. Cost around 300.
Lukey looks nothing special, just normal painted can, XForce looks yamm. Check their website.

It's not the muffler which creates the drone, it's the lack of design in Magna exhaust piping. Installing free flow muffler only makes the drone louder. Mitsu just planted a pipe, and then designed a silent enuff can to cover up. Installing headers removes some 30-40 % of that drone by improving the flow characteristics. Experimenting with resonators might help (costs!!!)
