need help just wondering if it matters where the port located

have a 2.1ft3 box the sub is currently over the left side so where should the port be??

over the right side??
next to the sub??
on the side of the box??

also should i move the sub so its in the middle of the box??

have your port blowing out the same direction your sub is.

Dats exactly right...

Also generally best to face the sub backwards to utilise rear loading and cabin gain. But not always the case.

dude, u have a spl meter! do some trial and error...you'll just haev to build a few different boxes to experiment :cool:

What SPL meter is it? Termlab? Or Nokia :P

I wanna RTA... :( Mate sold his so I got nothing atm...)

i have more boxes than i can throw at the moment

i am not after spl with this box

spl is for my 2 x 12" earthquakes

i have 2x12" pioneers in a pioneer box not sure about litreidge, should i have a port?

Sealed sounds smoother, For sq sealed or AP. Hard (Although not impossible) to get as good and predictable results using ported or bandpass.

Although porting will add that extra boost at the tuning point which can come in handy.

If you port, put some effort into port specs.

Download Winisd and have a play.

dam im justa little boy then.i have a ported box.its custom made and we tried so many variations on the port,size,length, location (even no port at all) and i found this way was the best.sounded better then non-ported and all the other locations.

but like most peopel say.its different in many cases.what works for me might not work for you.

btw this box can also double as a coffin when i die.lol lol
