Just wondering would people buy a TJ or (for say $5k extra) TL VRX? Has anyone driven both? If you have I'd be very interested in your opinions. Cheers.

Only buy the TL/TW if you want the side airbags. :doubt:

Otherwise TJ has nicer wheels, climate aircon with fancy screen, nicer nose. :2cool:

Driven both and honestly couldn't tell or feel any difference in speed. TL definitely more solid and better interior. Wheels are same size 17". That's my 2c.

Here here, My parents own a TJ and I have a TL both sports models ( mine a VR sport equivilent) my parents love driving my car they say it feels more refined then theirs.

I would defiantly say the TL VRX over a TJ, but if you wanna get series get a VR they are lighter then the VRX and you can always add teh VRX front bar latter on. Hey that sounds liek a good idea ......*rings up dealer.

I picked the TL VR-X over the TJ, I like the look of them, they especially look good when lowered. As for speed I dont know if the increase in weight has made a whole lot of diference, I haven't had mine down the 1/4 mile yet, but will when i get a chance.

As for interior finish theres more features in the TL and i think the cabin is nicier IMO, the TJ and TL are both nice it really depends on your own taste, but I like having a 10 stacker cd player, 10 speakers and power 4 way seat, i think the seats are more suportive in the TL as well.

and how did you come to the conclusion that its "alot faster"?
my dads TL VR-X feels the same to me as his old TJ sports, but just drives better.

How can you say its faster :doubt:

I'd go the TL, I'm a convert I must admit, I used to love the TJ VRX better than the TL, but I think the TL is a much better looking and appointed car.

I'm a fan of both the VR and VR-X TL's but still love the TJ's. I'm looking at getting one of these sometime soon if everything works out VR TL's start from about 28g and VR-X TL's start about 30g second hand with low km's. TJ's i've noticed start from about 25g now 2nd hand with decent km's in the end its up to you i recommend test drive them both and see which your more comfortable with.

I hated them at first, but they're slowly starting to grow on me, especially the VRX.

Mate - if you can find one, a manual VR-X LE TL is the go (not just cos I've got one)

Shouldn't pay more than a standard VR-X and you get colour coded headlight-surrounds, (only standard now on the series II), mesh in front grill, Silver rear bumper detail, (Ralliart)Enkei wheels & Koni Shocks

I picked mine up only cos the black standard VR-X I was gonna buy was actually sold and the salesman didn't know... Best mix upever, in the end....

I was told the blue isn't popular but I love it...

Just need $$$ so I can dump the thing....

Just have a hunt around and you should find a good 'un under $30K

i thought ALL TL's were auto's?

TJ or a TL? its a very hard choice! i like the look of both, TL's look tough when lowered with wheels, a manual TJ would kill an auto TL.............if you want an auto definately go the TL.
