Ok guys, this is second hand but I seen an SPL brand 10 inch subwoofer in a gorgeous box, with two metal machined ports, about 2inch in diameter, and it had clear perspex in front of the sub that was curved and bolted on with stainless steel bolts, it also had two types of connections at the back and was covered in two tone, black and grey, looks hot, and they had $89 dollars on it, is this a good buy, or is it no good. :?

who had $89 on it. If its not a private sale I say go
for it ,coz if its s**t you could always take it back.
Steer away from pawn shops coz you can't get your money back
they will only give you a credit note.

Yeah I thought it sounded pawned.
SPL is a good brand but I wouldn't trust a
pawn shop. If he's got $89 on it , then he
probably got it for $40 or $30. Now, what would have made the person that sold it to him part with it for that much, if its such a
good buy. If you've ever tried to pawn anything
you'd know that they only offer ludicriously low prices,
so low infact that only the stupid wouldn't be offended.
Swindlers and cheats everyone of them.
But that's just me . HAPPY SHOPPING!

Yeah I know they offer next to nothing for stuff, but I am buying here, not selling, they also got heaps of amps too, about 30 in stock, but I think that will be a new purchase.

So SPL is good hey.

yeh. SPL stands for Sound Physics Labs,
a top brand out of the US if I'm not mistaken.
But I think you may have missed my point earlier.
The person that had the box in their own car first,
decided that it was worth no more than $30 ,and they
probably spent a whole lot more on it than $89.
But if he says that if you don't like it you can get
your money back then go for it. That seems fair if you
can't listen to it in the store. Sorry to be such a
downer but its a case of once bitten, twice shy with me.
Hope all goes well.

Ok then, this is the plan, I will get my new amp, install it, then take a drive down there and just hook it up straight away, problem solved. 8)
