Hey All

Ive Just Purchased A Kh Verada And Have Had The Car For Over 2 Months.
For The Past Week Ive Noticed The Car Idles Very Low And Slightly Rough.
Ive Been Told To Bring The Car To Mitsubishi Who Would Perform A Throttle Service.
Is This Correct?

By The Way This Is The Best Site Ive Seen And Finally Made It Home!!!

Try not to bring it to Mitsibishi, well definitely dont if you live in SA. You'll walk away with worse issues then what u began with lol
Well its not really that funny :doubt:

You mean clean the throttle body?
You can do that yourself.
If you're lazy, grab a bottle of throttle body cleaner from Kmart. I haven't tried that myself, so buyer beware.

Mine idles rough, but like been said the idle is low.But idles allot smoother when idling higher.I put allot of the roughness down to the firing order ie., one side to the next down the line.

What's there to clean in a TB? It's not like a carburettor with jets etc. Perhaps injectors are dirty - use cleaner. Plugs? Idling speed can be adjusted by turning the screw. Unless the TB is really so full of gunk that it's really stuffed of course....

Idle speed will be adjusted via the throttle body or ISC motor, if the idle speed is too low it will generally feel a little rough.

If your idle is just generally rough this is due to either ignition or or your injectors. I noticed a change in spark plugs makes idle much smoother as does flushing your injectors.

The biggest problem with using the idle screw is when you increase the idle, the ecu thru the ISC motor brings it back.Untill a point that the ISC won't pull it back any more.I might be a thought next time you are getting a service to have them (mitsubishi) increase your idle thru the MuttII etc.,

U got me there. I have adjusted the idle simply from the screw and it stayed. Baffling!

Can someone please show me (pref. with a photo) exactly where the idle screw is on the 3.0L engine?

Thanks.

Hello All

Thankyou For Your Input.

A Simply Carby Clean Spray Is All That Was Needed.
Alot Of The Mitsubishis And Hyundai Suffer From Build Up In The Throttle Body Near The Butterfly.
If This Is Allowed To Build Up It Affects The Idle.
I Also Removed The Idle Control Motor And Gave That All A Good Spray.
Believe It Or Not The Idles Spot On .
Thankyou Once Again For Your Input
