As can be seen, the Grey Ghost is in pieces. Is there anybody who needs specific photos of any details of the interior, under the bonnet, or any other angles on a first gen wagon?
(Currently EFI auto, manual photos will be a short while, whilst removing the box from the donor)

Astron wants dash photos, etc. Is there anybody else needing different shots, under the skin?

(Whole car's getting virtually stripped, to fix up a few electrical, and cosmetic problems)

you have my order :D
are you removing anything more from the dash area? pics with and without air con stuff and blah blah would help to :)

Trying to get away without killing the air con, but the rest is coming out, as I've got to remove the auto loom, and repair the others.

Can't offer that directly, as both my blocks oopsied somewhat on that (One broke the bottom chain, the other has two broken timing chain guides)

However, I can offer a link (http://starquest.i-x.net/viewtopic.php?t=944) that will assist on the timing chain.

What are you after exactly?

I should be going to pull the timing case off one of the Astrons here tomorrow, isnt that hard to take a shot if that is what you are after.

just want to see the wear spots, few people here think my noise is becase my timing chain is streched and can be replaced by using a linkable chain :) hmm how to describe my noise well its a rotating chain type noise from the top of the motor not down near the oil pump, was going to pay to have the chain changed over the head removed and skimmed 15 thou and the carbon removed off the pistons if any

I dont know if I can help with that, it is normally the chain guides that wear and the chain stretches. Although in yours it is probably wear on the automatic tensioner (being a TP). The manual adjuster on TM/N is less hassle.

I didnt get around to doing it today anyways.

I finally found my missing cable. The car's still stripped, as I'm living hand to mouth at present...

However, I might be making a start on putting the interior back together (I'm going to be painting this weekend)

Here's the dash photos as requested.

Also, as a warning to wagon owners, this area here was full of water, from the rear window washer bottle, due to the rubber stopper being full of muck. If you've got a wagon (dunno about sedans) there's a stopper just behind the rear wheel arch. Check to see that it isn't blocked. (Couldn't get the camera there specifically.)

yeah, my bottle was loose and knocking around in there. fixed that a while ago, all the foam inserts to cover the holes made a sludge pile down the bottom, was yummy.

looks like fun, think i might get another magna and strip it like you have. :D this would be my 5th now then

engine yes, youll find me there early to strip an engine of goodies. but not totally ripping a dash out, or the whole interior of a car out. especially a magnas, cause half of it is made from crap material and will just snap. like my fkin centre console

Yeah. I'm stripping this one, and I'll strip it and the Elite down later again, for repainting.

And as for the cracked plastics and such, why do you reckon I'm repainting my interior into a universal colour?

I'm just clearing faults, and manually converting this one. Plus half the plastic was broken anyway, bar, amazingly, the console.
