i'm not familiar with the factory dual fuel system but I suspect that it is supposed to start on petrol and then switch to gas when set for gas like the ford DF system does. Is there an override button to press while cranking to make it start on LPG?
Being a factory system dealer mechanics will be the ones who have access to the repair manuals for it. The hard bit would be trying to find a Mitsu dealer workshop that is accredited for LPG work.
Special licences are needed by mechanics to work on lpg cars in most states and LPG repair shops have to be registered. Probably not all Mitsu dealers would have this or the lpg trained staff.

My dad had a DF system in his TR and after it was finally all fixed cause the guy who owned it before didn't look after it, it worked properly but with a few rules
1. start on petrol then switch to gas after the car has warmed up
2. never let the fuel tank drop below 1/4 of a tank (don't know this is)
It work good right up until he sold for a TE
As for fixing it hard to say but I would go for somone who knows both L.P.G and E.F.I

MY girlfriend has a TR EFI 4cyl with DF, (For sale pm me) I have tuned the LPG a little richer than normal so as long as it's not below 0deg I can cold start on LPG but it won't idle properly till it warms up (it does get colder than that here). Cold starts on LPG or lean running can cause backfires in the inlet manifold and destroy ducting, airflow meters and air filter boxes. Some taxi's have a blow back door in the air filter box or between the airflow meter and throttle body to overcome this damage.
Because LPG systems use heat from the cooling system to control the conversion of LPG from liquid to gas and prevent the converter freezing, It is a good idea to wait till an engine has warmed up and the interior heater starts working before switching to LPG.
I have had Holdens, Fords, and Mitsubishis wth EFI and LPG
I don't keep 1/4 of a tank of petrol in the car but I don't let it run down to the empty line either. You can't let the petrol tank run dry because the petrol lubricates the fuel pump in the tank and the pump will burn out and need replacing if it is powered up when dry. You can disconnect it first. you don't just switch to gas if you run out of petrol with DF and EFI.

1/4 tank rule.
modern ulp absorbs water very easy.it also goes OFF in about a month.so if you need to run petrol you have to run on petrol regularly.thats why its best to start on petrol with efi as it is better than lpg with a cold manifold lpg is more like the old wet fuel system, the vapour has to be sucked in.and this takes more than a few cranks.
the old systems had cold start primmers.these go off with big bangs if your impatient..
backfire are very easy as the fuel is ready to go compared to carby petrol..
i get 500 km from 64 liters lpg..and 500km for 60l ulp.1985 2.6 carby auto.new motor.
