pffft, thats just like my install. H/U, amp under seat with slashes cut into the carpet so wires run through the middle under the handbrake to the H/U. sub in that rear corner, and splits in door pods.
nothing special. and im not saying my install is good, its not

sorry, for that price that is not cheap, and not like its spectacular, $2000 for that install, id want everything chrome,. coz... i dont see the greatness there sorry. as most people here would know, it is not hard to install anything into a magna.

i think he was just pointing it out. not saying it was a good deal or that he'd be getting it

no I know that, but in voicing my opinion, in coming from someone, I wouldnt pay $2000 for that. it is extremely easy to install an audio system into a magna, let alone most cars, tho I can understand some people are scared. but, $2000... i wouldnt think anyone to see that as a bargain whether contemplating or actually getting that.

I agree the front speakers look like sh*t.
I also agree that stereo istallation is easy on a Magna. Mine isnt perfect but is damn tidy - pulled the seats and all out to do it, did it when I put the central locking in, reran all the door wiring with new flexible plastic guards around them and all.

It's all a matter of what you want to do with your car, etc. If you are doing it up for resale it is pointless. If you are doing it up to keep it long term and you really love it then it doesnt really matter, improve it all you like :)

For the equipment ur getting.. as a package.. the price is reasonable, it'd be a nice sounding system, and it'd save a bit of time, you get everything needed to do the install in one, the pods, sub box, wiring etc. Just checking Astron.. you know you're not paying for the install right? i'm pretty sure it's just the kit, everything u need to do the install urself. By the looks of it, they give you some options on the brands you get for each component.. I dunno personally it seems alright to me, I know the amount of cash i've wasted going from component to component, never being happy with the outcome, having a kit already suited for the magna with everything provided doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.

dont worry, im stealing your idea, for 3 reasons
1. sound quality can go **** itself, as if u have a good HU, u can adjust for it, and those front ones are only for mid range to treble, so the bass can go down the back.
2. theyre not as easy to see if theyre behind the seat,
3. and sorta like you, my previous car front speakers were kicked in, so i dont want that happening, and i have a gf thatll prolly kick em accidently :P
so tell those arseholes that hang **** on you to go **** themselves

I know, i was just making fun of myself, theres no resale with 17's or a zorst on an ol' magna :P but it makes it more enjoyable for me

I would like to know where to get them pods from.
sensible
07-04-2005, 11:58 AM
I've got those pods in my TN, though they're designed for splits (they've got a little platform to mount the tweeter).. I got them from JB for the rediculous sum of around $250 a pair..
If you were any good with fiber glassing, you could probably make some yourself for next to nix..
