No, a mod for a mods sake is no mod at all. There's way too many 'mods' that get done without thinking about the aesthetics. Just because it's different or unique, doesn't make it fine to do. Sure, the owner of the car has the right to do whatever they want but they should think about whether it actually looks good or not. Unfortunately this might look okay in this photo but guarenteed it's tacky when you look at it for real. It's not better than some boddy colour coded head and tail lights.

form the angle the pic was takin at and the quality of the photo it looks alright, but from seening these black borders out on the road they look horrible i would rather have my stock headlights without those then try have parabolic tryhards stock lights, sorry guys this one just dont float my boat

and who are u to judge whether what people do to their car looks good or not? judging people on how they do their car up is like judging them on what clothes they wear. a bit low brow dont ya think. :)

he wouldnt of done it, and shown it to everyone here if he didnt think it looked aiight.

He wants peoples opinions, so saying it doesnt look good to him is aight.. I wont object there.

anyway, who wants to argue over this.. ive said my opinion on them. :D

Umm... I'm not judging him, it's not my place to do so and I did say that the owner of a car is free to do what they want but too many don't consider the aesthetics of what they are doing. I'm calling a spade a spade.

hey its only headlight protectors hey.people chill out.i dont mind if you hate them or not its your choice.i just thought it was different to the normal ones thats all.

they come like that,i didnt paint them, they fit properly and they are ment for real parabolics i dont know why the shaded them in black.peresonally i think they look better than normal ones, but thats only my opinon.

its either put them on and have them crack and fork out $30 for a new set of pay $300 for new lights.go figure

i agree they deffinately look better than standard, like you said parra's are insanely expensive! but still the bomb.

haven't sifted through this entire thread, have you told us where to get them from? for $30 i'm willing to put them on and see if they look any good :D

hey man.well when we go to the drags you can try them there?how about that?

i got them from a repco outlet.for all of you guys in brisbane there is a repco store out at lawnton that get all the old stock and sells it for like at least 50% off. its a pretty good little spot.they sell everything from dash mats(i got mine for $3.no crap it was $3.even really cheep stero gear like new stackers from $99etc) to tools and all the other sorta stuff u c in repco.i dont know why it goes there or why its so cheep but it has good stuff in it occasionally.

yeah i also agree that the para's look way way way better but fot $300+ im gonna invest that into the exhaust system.

but oh well personal choice just like mag wheels i suppose.

Stick it to em! :)

My thought is do what you want, what you want. If you like your ride that is all that matters :)

Personally I'd prefer paras though but they don't look too bad :)

hey thanks mate.

i 2 would also prefer para's.im not denying that they look better...but i cant justify spending so much money on headlights.

all im saying is that the $300+ ive saved on real para's i can now spend on somethign that makes my car go actually faster or handle better.

like i said para's look awesome but i dont think that i'll be forkign out the extra for them.

well not in this life time anyways.

About these alternatives... I don't mean to throw a negative in here but I think people should seriously think about this one. By inserting these I believe you would surely be dramatically reducing the amount of light emitted from the head lights... I might even go so far as to say that they might make the headlights non ADR compliant as a result.

Headlights are designed quite intricately and rely a lot on the chromed reflectives behind the lens.. by putting these in you surely cannot be able to adjust the direction of the beam and get any serious and adequate results, as they would still be going through this same restrictive path. I used to work for Hella Australia, and I know what testing they did on their headlights to ensure they were emitting the necessary amount of light and in the right quantities and directions... just from what I know I believe this could be a hazard.

ps...I know, lets not talk about my tail lights lol... different story.

edit... i just quickly drew a crude pic... the darker yellow is what I would imagine the product will resrict and the lighter yellow is what the unmodified might differ... (top down view)

na its all good.you picked up on somthign good there.i looked at that before i baught them too.
it isnt actually a solid "colour in" on the outlines of the head light protectors.the pattern is like a mesh on the protectors,so it still allows light out.i got a pic its a crap one cos its been all squished to fit it in

Ahh well that's better than solid for sure, didn't realise they were meshed... I would still be curious about compliance as they would be a bit restrictive... but yeah... not knocking your work, just everytime I get asked about my frosted tail lights when someone wants to buy them, I always do the speech, just so people think about it.

Edit: i would be curious to see what that looks like at night!
