I have a 98 TF Exec Magna, purchased used and just wanted to know if this model should have remotes and therefore remote central locking?
Have looked up the Red Book and specs say it should have remote boot release and remote fuel lid release (i'm not sure how, as the fuel release is a pull release beside the drivers side seat) it also states it has central locking.
Optional extras fitted include ABS, Air and Drivers Airbag.
Should I have remote or NOT???

Well I have a 97 TF Exec and yes mine comes with a remote... unfortunately only one but better than none.
Three buttons:
-Central Lock
-Central Unlock
-Boot release
You are right about the fuel lid... people will argue with me but Red Book is not terribly accurate.
From what I understand you can get remotes (might cost a bit) and the remote can be tuned in to your car. But yeah, I don't want to try and guess the price... but if you find out could you let us know cheers :D I am sure someone here has done it... just sit tight and you and I might get the answers.
Welcome to Aussie Magna by the way :D
I think when they say remote I think they are saying it can be done from another location i.e glove box and under seat for fuel cap. Please someone correct me if i am wrong but i have a 2003 model and the boot is on the remote but the fuel cap is still in the car under the seat.I am no expert but when they talk about the fuel cap i dont think i have heard of anyone with it on there remote. But it does sound like you should have a remote for your central locking and boot.

Yeah, "remote fuel release" includes a cable-operated lever arrangement.

Sorry to dig up the thread but the normal 3rd Gen remote (Green, Red and little white button) can do remote fuel lid, i did it somehow the otherday ****ing with the remote to get the boot to open and it popped my fuel lid??
It's part of the boot button somehow, i don't know what i did but it opened when i pressed it!!

That's funny lol. Keep trying different combinations, maybe if you push the boot button once and then the green or red button? I know you have to push the boot button twice for it to open, maybe there's a reason for this?
