Another quick question;

Just checking through Magna's operating manual for the remote central locking thing and have found that the magna should have an anti theft system fitted also. I have followed the steps in the manual to try and get it to work but nothings happening!! Does this system rely on the remotes to activate (arm) and de-activate (disarm).

According to the manual I should have a security light on the dash which illuminates when this process has been successful.

Whats going on?

It seems to be a general operating manual for all magnas, but it does't say (if fitted) like all other optional extras or higher spec models have attached to their explanations, so it has to be a standard factory fitment.

The security light in the TF doesnt come on unless the door has been opened manually.. So If the car has been locked with the remote.. and your window is open and you unlock & open the door, thats when it comes on. I dunno if thats right.. but it used to be on sometimes when driving.. thats coz our remotes were stuffed.

I'll check again tonight and see what happens in the Verada.. not 100% sure on what happens!

My 2000 TH magna (no idea on other models sorry) has the SECU-RITY light when you lock the doors with the remote or the key. There are two parts to the security I've found:
1. Immobilser - car won't start without a recognised key
2. Alarm - If the green light comes on then it's 'armed', (either by remote or key in door locking). The alarm will go off if:

You open the bonnet
You open the boot without the key (unsure if with the button)
You unlock the doors without they key
So basically it seems to go off if someone tries to open your boot/bonnet without your approval.. also if someone smashes your window and opens the door...

Also when you lock a passenger in and they try and get out :bowrofl:

My moms TJ2 has it and it definately comes on when u have locked the car with the remote and then tried to open the car from the inside and it went off straight away.

But my TF has nothing like that just an immoboliser.

The alarm will not go off if you unlock the boot with the key/remote when alarm system is on.

I mentioned the key but I didn't mention the remote sorry. Anyone tried the boot button?
