hey guys i have a 02 tj exec
just recently i have noticed a creaking sound(like floor boards) while under take off(even slow take off's)!

-i doubt it is suspension because when i go over a speed bump it doesnt make a sound
-i dont think it is cv because while steering is under full lock and car is moving it doesn make a sound at all

i dont know much about this sort of stuff mechanically speaking so it may well be either of the two above

could it be wheels bearings or something like that?

Wheel bearings usually "rumble" when they go bad, they never squeek.

Probably some piece of trim rubbing something else, check the A-pillars to dashboard
or the centre console - there's a few pieces of clipons there that can move.

If it does it when you are not moving and you rev the engine as well it could be the engine exhaust pipe flange. I had the same problem on a te and tf.

and in the converse - it it only happens on certain movements - say certain bumps - its very likely a de-bonded windscreen. Mine used to creak and snap in certain ways all the time on regular places on my commute route - with some variation due to seasonal temperature. Recently I replaced the screen (for other reasons) and the noises have utterly vanished.

NB - this noise thing was the only symptom - the car never leaked or anything else.

Its not from your windsdcreen is it???? :confused:
Sorry sarras posted while you were posting i also had my front and rear windscreens replaced cause they were squeakin was done under warranty though ....................
Mine used to do it whenever i reversed out me drive way (slight incline)
