Just trying to remove rear struts in 98 Exec to replace springs with Super Lows King Springs, have done front of car but I am having difficulty 'cracking' the nut at the top of the strut, so I can then remove the spring to replace with the new ones.
Is there an easy way to complete this process, as when I put a spanner around the nut, part of the shock absorber spins when I turn the nut?

the easy way is with a rattle gun, spewin if you dont have one tho.
as with any bolt, apply penatrade or another penatrating liquid onto it before trying.
how much of the thread protrudes from the top nut? could yuo get two nuts onto it and tighten them together so u have another part to get a spanner onto to hold it

Dont know if a rattle gun would work, on the shockie, at the top where the nut comes through on the topside of the parcel shelf, the nut can be turned with a spanner but as soon as you turn it the whole bolt/shockie spins also. At the top of the bolt it has been squared off to be able to put a shifter on so that the bolt/shockie wont spin but theres not enough leverage to do this. Should I take them out and try? I thought the rears would be easier to fit than the fronts.
