looks like a nice setup Meh, must be over 5G of stereo in that car while poor buggers like me are paying off home loans, with a stock standard system. Is hard when i was used to my top of the range system for 2 years or which some of got stolen, some the issurance company took when my car was written off and the rest i ended up selling which means now im starting from afresh for my new system which is going to consist of anything i can get cheap, lol and my pioneer competition 6*9 speakers that i ended up keep

I remember a test for those response amps years ago in hot 4's and they got a great review, so do they live up to their name? Good for the money too Webpage for 150 Wrms Response Amp (http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AA0434&CATID=24&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=595)

Yep Jaycar/Response gear is the best value for money imo. New range will be even more bang for your buck for anyone thinking of buying some new stuff.

june apparently....

I just got the same amp as meh yesterday and put it in..... pretty incredible! I couldn't justify my planned projects, moneywise... so I'm going value. And incredibly happy with the response 150wrms!!!!

Will be getting one of the new series later I think for subs.

MDF Spacer not necessary when you use Blu Tac.. It seals inthe air and doesn't make the speaker sit so far out that the door cards wont fit .. Blu Tac is also handy for mounting Tweeters when you don't want to put holes through out the car..
Also a little blu tac under the Speaker screws and Stock speaker cover Bolts stop them from ratlling with the Bass..
and is easy to remove when you return you car back to stock condtion..

Wicked... I still have to install my 3 amps and thinking about getting some Pheonix Gold Tantrums to replace the Alpine sub.

Still thinking about a false floor, not sure where everything will fit yet.

Magnat, blutack is a good idea for a seal but it's always best to mount your speakers on something solid. Any flex at all will result in the driver using more effort to get the same output. Especially when in direct contact with the driver.

Nope got some Tantrums 2 x 12" svc. Marc's Diamond TDX fell through, so it's going to be the Alpine ZR 12" till I get the Tantrums in.

Gonna pop em in a sealed box with some bling lights and perspex.

Was thinking about selling my Alpine mrv-405. But now might keep it to run rears then I have the option of running ambient tweets through it as well in the future.

4 channel Soundstream - to run two subs
4 channel Soundstream - to run mids and tweeters active
4 channel mrv-405 - to run rears bridged ~160 w rms a side will be way too much for any rear fill needs, so might even box up the 6x9's leave them in my boot and install the Hertz HSk splits on the parcel shelf...

I dunno... Stupid lack of time.

Still got a audioline amp that I could install to run some boot speakers or something

I have built a Big Ported Box for my Two Magnat XTC 1200 Long throw Subs..Stay tuned as your mouth will drool when it is in and Finished..
So far it has cost me $400 in materials so it is gonna be Awesome and I am tuning it to the Subs exact specifications.....I should warn you this will be enviable Enclosure involving Perpex Etched Back panel with Blue Neon (To show off my Magnat's Chrome Basketts
Current Weight without Subs is 30kg... Each Sub weighs 12.5kg so it is going to be very well secured to the car..

Pics Will follow very soon...

Shweeet

If they sound alright then thats all that matters. MDF is just a more solid mount for ur speakers and equates to less rattles and better response. Some people claim to hear the 'wood' response but I just think it seals better than the plastic/metal and wont give off any resonance or absorb too much of the speakers energy.

I forget what my doors sound like without deadening. Just take it for granted now. If they arent that bad then no need to worry about it.

as for sound deadening... too much added weight to the car for my liking...

I shoulda weighed all my gear before and after... The way i see it is... Money spent on bad fuel economy is saved on the cost of lowering your car...
