I was thinking about putting a standard rear spoiler on the back to finish off my Solara.
But a small part of me likes the clean lines.
Any opinons? It would just be the standard rear wing.

they look sooo much better without a wing
I agree, I have never really liked any of the spoilers available for the magna.

I vote no wing... :D
I reckon if you do decide to get a wing get the mudflaps and lower sills and bumpers colour matched as well, thats my preference

What he said. Even though mine has one (Came with it) I prefer the clean lines without. All it needs is some wheels and to be lower to the ground.

well most of the standard wings look a bit lost unless on a fully modded car - so I went to a TL wing - its sleek and subtle so it looks okay on a non-batmobile - should be on my car within a couple of weeks if you can wait that long for pix (its at the painter now). And cheap too - see here:

lol We are going to get to a point where bugger all people have wings and then everyone will want one. I am still happy with mine being on there, though I do wonder what it would be like without... but I am not going to take it off. Mine might help with the frosties being there too.
My opinion... if it didn't come with one just leave it alone... If you mod it up with a kit and need to balance the plastic, pop a suiting but subtle one on. Either way dump it a bit too :) he he
At the end of the day it is your decision based on what you want your car to be anyway... If I listened to all the "no, don't do it!" comments, mine would still be stock lol ;) ...dare to be different.
If you do decide you might do it, get someone to photochop it first too (colour matching is a bit of a pain I find but at least it gives you an idea)
(p.s. a pic of mine is in my sig)

Hey that looks alright.
But..I might leave it for the time been. Although a bloke in Adelaide can get factory wings for $280 pained and fitted.
The first upgrade is some side lights for the front. NFI what they cost but they look good.
Lowering it might be a option later down the track when my finaces get back into the green. :doubt:

My last 3 Cars I have fitted spoilers to all of them..
A Nice Talon Touring wing would like Nice.. It is bigger then a Factory one and not as big as an Ironing Board..
The Exec I have now has the Factory fitted spoiler.. I don't mind it at all...
Wing or No Wing.. A Magna is always gonna look sexy lowered on a Good set of rims...
Just don't put an alloy wing on it or I will cry/ Laugh my A$$ off...

I know they look great lowered I just worry to much about scrapes.
Like my local shopping centry has some nasty speed bumps, the bottle shop is on a hill and my standard magna scrapes the front tow catch if I exit onto the road to fast. I think I'd wear the chassis out if I lowered it anymore:P

 I vote for a wing  .Magna without wing looks a like man without hair -Something is missing. lol
Good to see that most ppl on here have sum sense...
Wings are first of all are originally designed for 2-door sport cars (magnas are not sports cars), secondly they are tacky, thirdly they are rice (they don do anything, jus look gay), they look sooooooo try-hard on family sedans and I think thats about it...
my car came with an aftermarket wing. i took it off and now i have 5 plugged holes on my boot, which is better than having the wing on. so don b a poor ass and actually pay money to degrade ur car...
jus my opinion

Wings were once installed purely to prevent oversteer on racing cars to assist the rear end with downforce. 99.5% of cars on the road with wings do not race and therefore wings are as mentioned just a decoration. AU Falcons pretty much have wings as standard, IMO they help finish off the cars rather dull rear end.
Wings are purely there just for looks and IMO they do look good on Magnas, but they do look good without them.

Of course this is all very well and philosophically and technically correct - but you forgot to mention that on today's aero rumps no one can see ANY of the rear of their cars when reversing - not in the windows and not in the mirrors either. Adding a wing to the boot at least gives you something to see as a reference point for whatever you're backing into!

what was just said - they help with the blind spot, and if subtle enhance the looks. I am glad I have spoiler on my car.

i like my wing... wouldnt have it any other way for two reasons:
1) Completes the RALLI///ART image, and
2) Holds arse of car on ground at high speed
(which is of couse 110kph in south australia, mine dont go any faster lol)
