It's been a while since I've seen a 3rd Gen up on jack stands etc, but from memory I think they have two(?) mufflers or only one? :think:

I'm familiar with the internal layout/design of the rear muffler, but is the first/front muffler (the one directly after the cat) internal layout the same terrible reverse/tri-flow design?

See attached Pic - the 'Front' muffler you speak of is really only a resonator (number 7 on the attached pic) - as far as I know it doesn't contain baffles at all.
