I've been offered a strut brace from a '94-'00 Diamante. Can anyone tell me if it will fit a TR Magna?
Unfortunately it will be coming from another city so I can't try it before I buy it :cry:
Anyone know?

If it fits the 2000 model, its not gonna fit urs!

it's the right length n all.. but the hole are just in the wrong place i think... i held madmagna's upto mine and looked liek it'd go on but the holes were in the wrong spot for the bolts..

94 - 00 Diamante, not sure what is going on there as the years are 94 - 96 and 96 - current from memory.
You will need to try and find out what shape it came from, as Choonga said, the braces are very similar, at worst you may have to re drill a few holes.
Will it be OK to drill new holes?
Wouldn't that weaken the brackets?
Have I just asked a couple of stupid questions?? :confused:

Id imagine ur chances of the holes being far enough different to make another set of holes to fit ur 2nd gen would be slim. If you get what i mean.
Are you getting this for free? If so, go for it, couldnt hurt..

just so you have something to compare with, at $180 delivered you can get a brand new Whiteline strut brace from me. but like the others have said, the TE won't fit the TR.

Why bother? Strut brace just prevents the Chassie twisting in high powered vehicles. It's just a waste of time for you at the moment with ur stock Magna.
Not even a 180 kW Ralliart has a strut brace, so stuff it I say :P

alot of people here have got strut braces and say it makes a big difference.. everyone from 4cyl to boosted magnas.
yes yur right....a strutbrace prevents the chassis from twisting.....
but u dont need a high powered car to get the benefits from one...they greatly reduce stability when cornering at speed, and i've found mine had reduced understeer in the dry significantly.
There are imense forces put on the suspension system when a car turns, any chassis stiffening will always show benefits.

I haven't got a high powered beast by a long shot, but I still swear by these things... mainly on heavy cornering... it is an obvious benefit in my books.. the amount of weight that is shifted on hard cornering is quite a lot and this bar definately helps to stabilise things a lot better.. hey if it happens to save me from 1 accident then it more than pays for itself!...
It is not a necessity... more of an additional extra... best money I have spent on my car to date... that's for sure.

True man, very true. But since when is understeer a bad thing? Hammer those corners Asian style :P (Even though i'm greek)

your confusing understeer with oversteer.. Oversteer is what u want to acheive for drifting asian style as u say.
understeer is just loosing grip in the front wheels quicker than you lose it in the rear. Makes the car harder to get around corners. :)

Yep, which is why you use ur Handbrake to control a FWD understeer.
Then again, you could just pull an Inertia Drift, good luck with that though. :nuts:
