Not an expert on the subject, but I'll start ya's off. Single big gives loads of power but can suffer from lag and poor low-end performance. Smaller twins are probably best but I've heard they're very hard to set up properly.

i guess thats the biggest issue, big single means lag, twin smaller ones less lag but cost more to setup

Depends what you want... Do u want to use it on the track Drag?? then BIG!!! if you want it for seat sh!ting then get the 2 small for onroad... :) fun fun!!

single - *can* suffer from lag, low down torque suffers, singles are for mid and high revving engnes.

twin - down low are great, can spool very fast, they do cost more, and the top end is nothing compared to a large single. twice as much heat surface area + harder to setup.

bwahaha!! heeeheeeheee!!

Take the Super+Turbo charged approach, have the super to boost while your Big Bad ass mutha spools up..

Could be explosive !! while your there add NOS !!!
and buy shares in Dunlop..

LOL...was that a joke meh? hahaha :bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

Just go supercharger.... no lag ;) Power always there. And while you are at it, get one with a bypass, so you can turn it off when family cruising.

Agreed.

I would go the twins, theres no point in having massive amounts of power when you will have stuff all chance of getting the front end to stick...

Or a single small even so your turbo comes on nice and low (around 1500rpm)

The guys pushing 280+rwkw's (Ford chaps) complain that they light up the rear wheels in 3rd gear changes if they are pushing their cars..

I recall a review of an EVO in UK that is rated at 400 KWs, through the use of an huge turbo. The reviewer said it was almost undriveable until the turbo spooled up, then it was greased lightning - and still undriveable but for different reasons. Very quick once already rolling, but standing 1/4 times not as flash as the power figures would suggest.

I voted for two turbos - more responsive throughout the range.

I reckon two small/medium turbos will be more streetable and ultimately more fun. You'll have instant power everywhere and won't have to worry about using your Secret Weapon(tm) to blast away from 2000rpm because you'll already have 95% of your maximum torque on tap anyway.

Which ever way you go, remember that fastest times on the strip will come from whatever setup gives you the highest average torque.

too big turbo coupled with a too smaller displacment engine = bad lag.. really bad lag!

solution, fit a smaller turbo which you can flow, to get slightly less outright power, but would be "responsive" to every day driving..

like i said - i dont have problems with lag in the booya mobile...
