Hey Guys,
Just wondering if anyone knew how to remove the front lenses off of the TS magna headlight unit. My right hand headlight lense is very dirty on the inside, and the left one is perfectly clean, looks odd, and i want to fix it. Can anyone help? i tried to remove the three silver clips along the top that appear to hold it on, but found that there is silcone as well.
any help would be appreaciated.

You gotta remove those clips, then slide out the indicator. Behind there there are a few bolts which need to be unscrewed.
then on the other side of the headlight there are 2 more bolts. undo them, and the headlight should pop out.
Now to remove the glass, you need a hairdryer set on HOT, use this to melt the glue thats holding the glass into the backing. It takes a while, but you will get there eventually.
And reverse to put it back in
thats a quick rundown of what u need to do...

Thanks mate,
seems abit odd, but i'll take your word for it, cars are very weird things indeed. Out comes the hairdryer!!!

I believe you can also put the whole lamp in the oven. Don't know what temp, but I'd start LOW. 80°C.

make sure it a conventional oven not a microwave. my grandma mixed those two up once it was a cracker.
potatoes in a microwave for 2 hours, :bowrofl:

I have cleaned the inside of a head lamp by putting in a mixture of CT18 truck-wash and water inside it, shaking and rinsing well.
Just leave the headlamp in the sun for a few hours with the lamp holes facing up and all the water should evaporate.

im curently attempting to remove the lense buy puttin the whole lot in the oven!! the story of how this came about
smashed out my lense rest of headlight ok
found a lense at wreckers but the back was all burnt from an engine fire
quick google tells me that if you bang it in the oven the " glue " will loosen and the lense can be pryed out no wuckenfurries
stay tuned
SUCESS
you little ripper i wasnt worried about the outside cover since it was damaged anyway.. but i did melt it a bit! left the oven on a bit high.. but after about 5 mins the lense just pryed off really easy
Disaster
trying to the reflective parts out of the outer covers i have no idea HELP there is a 3rd point whichis locked in how do i get it out
SUCESS
small ball joint on 3rd pin just poped off after i wound teh adjustments right out so I prolly didnt need to hacksaw the housing in half :) but that is what learning is all about
Sucess
its all gone back together sweet as
tip 1
if you a bit unsure dont use the oven just use a hair dryer but make sure you have a few things to wedge the lense out with. just did a quick run to the smash repair joint down the road and used their heat gun on low and it worked a treat getting all the old gunk out but a hair dryer would be more than enough
ps i have lots of pics if your interested pm me or mail or whatever
next mission replacing front brake pads
