What does it mean, when checking spark plugs Half is Black and carbonised, and the other half is clean, of the one spark plug

Yeah if your going to the effort of pulling the plugs out it is best to put new ones back in.
What do you mean by half black??????

the end of the spark plug will turn black when it's worn out, time for new sparkys :).

If you can post a pic of the plug here I will tell you what it means.
Plugs do not have to be "worn" to go black, a rich mixture will do that, oil will be black although a different texture.
Do not use the old, light grey i good as there is no longer lead in fuel and this is what caused the nice grey colour.

Oil passing though the valve stems or only 1 cylinder could mean a worn oil ring, does it blow any type of smoke at all. :cry:
