G'day I have the 4cyl tr and I want more power. I was wondering if it would be worth swaping the 4 for a v6 or would it be a better idea to just sell my current car and get another that already has a v6.
I could do the swapover myself and i'd put in a DOHC version and man trans as well, but i'm not sure how much the engineers certificate would cost.
You can't really subsubstite a V6 for the 4 cylinder because I believe it won't fit but to answer your question, it is DEFINITELY cheaper to sell yours and buy a V6 version.

sell the 4cyl buy a manual v6 even if your doing a DOHC conversion you won't even need an engineers certificate, there would be no change of displacement.

I would recommend selling your car and get one with a V6 instead. Saves the hassle in having to re-weld new engine mounts.
