Dunno if Im in the right section if this is a Tech/mods/audio question thread......
Well guys Ive got a TF Advance and was wondering if anyone knows if these were fitted with a Immobiliser or not? It has remote central lock, but have no idea about immobiliser.
Have just spend a heap on stereo etc and about to do a few mods, Ive been kicked in the balls by car thiefs before and wanna avoid it happening again(well at least slow em down enuff so I can get to em before they get away).
So basically I am gonna fit a decent alarm system, I was hoping my TF already had a Immobiliser as then I can just get a upgrade from Dynamco(heard they kickass) which would use the factory fobs etc.
Thanks guys.
Luke

Yes apparently all 3rd gens came with an immoboliser already installed and a good one at that.
Thats why you have to send in your VIN number to get a copy of your keys, its got a chip inside it that talks to the immoboliser and lets you turn your car on.

Yep immobiliser is definetly in there. But no alarm :(
Have you got any quotes yet Luke? How much they gonna slug you for it?
Best security with car audio is stealthy installs and picking ur places to pump. eg: on the move at 80 k's ;)

pretty sure mines standard, keyless entry and coded keys with immobiliser and alarm........should have sensors on all your doors and bonnet

Locked the keys in the boot today........  . Damn car stereo bug.
Slipped an old coathanger inside and unlocked the door. The horn started beeping and hazards flashed until I hit the green button on keyless entry.
So I guess it's an alarm.

lol I dont have the key to my boot. Only the Valet key. (been like that since I got the car) Once I flicked the child safety lock on the boot... Bad idea...
The remote wouldnt open it, the boot button wouldnt open it. And no key to get into it. Had to climb through the ski port. Fine, but I'm 6"2... so not an easy task. Ended up going to a friends house and grabbing his little brother. He crawled through to the boot and unsnibbed the child safety lock and all was well.
Not doing that again in a hurry

I got out and walked away leaving my keys on the passanger seat.... Lucky I had a spare at home
It wont lock if the keys are in the ignition though, Ive tried that to see what would happen.

Key in ignition, turn on usually works.. also for panic button which you can't shut off via remote for like 10 seconds (for obvious reasons).
