I've heard rumours that Pod Filters are incompatible with the TR Astron II 4G54 engine, due to some wierdo kinda thing...?
Can anyone disprove/confirm this for me, as I'm heading out to buy one on Friday to be fitted (unless the above is true?)

um not sure about the 4 cyl engine
but the v6 have a air mass sensor some air rams screw this up
K&n is the only brand that doesn't scres the air mass sensor
some one else should be able to confirm this
or give the right answer im not familar with the astron
The 4cyl shares the same MAS sensor as the V6 - you have to use the K/N Oval shaped filter - not a round one cos the round ones cause uneven idle (ive actually seen one on a 4cyl, when you rev up the engine and take your foot off, instead of the engine slowing to your normal idle of about 750-1000rpm and staying there, it goes down to about 500rpm then the computer corrects it - not nice)
and the air filter setup on the 4cyl is really restrictive - i stuck an oval one on our 4cyl tr manual and you can feel a definate difference straight away even without any other mods..
