Does anyone here know if the Pajero that uses the 24 valve v6 motor has the transfer case as part of the gear box or as a separate unit,

Also does the Triton have the 24v motor

I have the motor, I almost have a car (rwd mitsu) now I just want a RWD box to complete the marriage

in the mtsu 4x4's the transfer is mounted directly on the back of the gearbox, where the 2wd extention housing would be.
isn't there an V6 sold in some 2WD tritons here?

Late model 2X4 V6 triton would be the one to get the box out of but they are reasonably new to the market. i am unsure if you could get a 4X4 triton box and just fit the 2X4 extention housing to it...may work. Any MK V6 Triton will run the 24 valve 6G72.

from memory a 4x4 box has a shorter main shaft than a 2x4 box. it would probably not be as simple as just replacing the extention housing.
