I have my car since new and have just had my auto box oiled changed at the service i have just had (about 45000's).I feel that to run any oil for up to 80000k's before having it changed from first fill is asking for trouble. It shifts alot better then before (It was not that bad, but is better).

I would recomend doing it on a regular basis of at least 30,000ks, as old fluid is one of the causes of burnt out forward clutches, and on hard driven magnas it is something you cant skimp on, also get an auto gearbox guy to do it, as filling it on the te's can be incorrect, there is a procedure to do it but for me I like to get someone else to do that job.

is a full machine flush really essential. basically everyone recommends it cos it clears out the ATF in the torque converter. but i also heard the fluid in the torque converter not that substantial. just do a drain and refill will do cos the fluids mix and although it's not as clean as a full flush, it's much more cost-effective. any comments? :D

The convertor holds around the same amount of oil as the rest of the gearbox, I would personally if I owned a Auto change the whole lot, sort of like only taking out half the engine oil and then topping it up otherwise. It is recommened if I remember right every 45000k, if you blow a auto and havn't changed the oil you will lose out on warranty, if your car was still under it. Don't think that sounds funny, had a guy the other day has a TJ Sports in at work, engine blown, 60,000km and still under new car warranty until we found out he never had it serviced.

you do a full machine flush dude or just a normal drain? a machine flush usually costs 1.5 times as much as just a normal drain.
