Preacher Man

Hi y'all,
I've searched but not found what I'm looking for.
A couple of months back I bought new front and rear pads knowing that I was coming up for a change soon.
I've hit the squeelers and this weekend I'll be doing teh change.
I've read through my haynes manual. All looks very straight forward.
They talk of an anti-squeel compound. Any recommendations on a good brand?
I'll do a break fluid flush whilst I'm at it. Again any recommended DOT-4 fluid?
And any traps for young players.
I have a mate helping me who has done the brakes on his Falcon for the last few years. Should be fun.
My discs are still within limits. There's certaily concentric really shallow grooves around the surface. Do I necessarily need to get them machines, or wil the first few brakings clean them up. Haynes says to use emery cloth to clean them up - not sure how effective this will be. I don't want to make any depressions in the surface by buffing too hard.
