Hi Guys
My low beam stopped working last week(93 TR Wag), I have parks and hi-beam. I would presume not all the globes would go at once so think it's a fuse or link. i don't have an owner's manual - can anyone help?

it would most likley just be one of the fuses in the fuse box next to the battery.
Were the lowbeams dim at all before they stopped working, may be an earth point of something. But sheck the fuses first.

well if no one has answered your post by friday, i'll have a look for you as my car gets back rom the ultratune then. In the meantime, just pullout all the fuses and check for blown ones

G'day i've looked at my manual and from what I can tell the high and low beams run off of the same fuse so you may have a problem. The fusible link is in the fuse box next to the battery and it's a 40A one. You should be able to tell which one it is by looking on the fuse box cover. From what I can tell with the wiring diagram though, this may not be your problem. It may be your selector switch that's in the combination switch in the steering wheel.
But just check the fuse and light circuit with a test light or ohmeter first to check that they aren't the problem. Also have you checked to see if by some freaky occurance both bulbs didn't blow at the same time?

Tommo is right, check that they haven't just blown by chance at the same time. Sometimes when lamps blow they can short internaly creating a slight spike in the circuit causing others to blow. Bar that, it could be the selector switch or try finding the earth point.

A la my high beams in my Verada.
Always blew the left one, and the surge fried the right. Once even left me stranded in Drouin with two parkers, as it fried the lot.

heya mate, same thing happened to me the other night driving home, i had high beam, and parkers, but no low beam..! Took it to an auto electrician, apparently both the connections on both headlights, 1 was melted, and the other was starting to melt! Had to get 2 new connections, no biggie! He looked at the brakes connections, and 1 was starting to melt, he replaced them too! Works mighty fine now, $30 it cost, including new bulbs (at my request) Parently it is a common thing on sum magna's..!
