Hey guys,
Been having major probs with the idle servo in my 95 TS magna. Basically the servo was diagnosed as being faulty as there were big fluctuations in the engine rpm when accesories like air con were on. So i chose to get it replaced and the mechanic put in an ACA part that was meant to be an equivelent but cheaper. Ne ways, drove away with the idle happily setling down and then the same day the computer blew up and smelt like burning silicon. Took the car back as it was still drivable and they put a new comp in at a cost of 450 bucks. That night it blew again, so i took the car back and they tried a new servo but it was not working. ne ways, after 450 for the comp and 160 for the servo, the car was still not idling properly. I cracked the absolute ****s and just told them to fix it, so they took the car for a day last week and an auto electrician looked at it for a day and came back saying that the servo they replaced my orignal one with might have feen faulty. So they compared my original computer with the new one, and found out that both had burnt out in the same spot, and so they have taken the car for 4 days this week to go do diagnostics on the two computers and servo to see if one is faulty, mainly focussing on the new servo which was the only new part in the car, and coincided with the blowing of the comp.
Hopefully they find it was the servo and i get a new comp for free under waranty, but if they don't they say they have to check the loom for wiring shorts and stuff which will start to cost allot of money.
I am starting to think ACA parts are ****. sorry to say it, but maybe there is a logc to using genuin parts.
Will pos outcome when i get the car back later this week.
