I've got a 92 TR 4cyl magna which is slowly but surly getting done up. The only thing i've touched so far is the exhaust, i've put a new muffler and thrown on some wildcat extractors, not a bad performance increase.
But ever since i had the car it's been pausing at 2800rpm. As i put my foot down the revs stop at 2800 for about 2 secs and then continues, it's driving me up the wall, (usually happens when starting up a hill)
can someone give me and idea how to fix the problem, thanks
Steve

Hey, I got a TR too... you say the extractors gave you a good performance boost?
How noticable a boost would you say? I'm still contemplating the worthiness of having them fitted...

Tried getting the injectors cleaned? Or possibly spark plugs or leads?

Vaeril by the look of your picture we have exactly the same car, colour and all. Yeh extractors made a noticable difference. The Rev line is much smoother throughout and the car is much more powerful at the mid-high rev range. I'd say approx 15 -30kw. I can almost keep up with a VT commodore 3.8 v6. Definatly worth every cent.
i had the injectors cleaned during a dynotune on monday Killbilly. so i'm not sure if it's that, but thats what i thought it would be.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Be careful with this sort of numbers mate - that is alot of power - I saw a 50hp shot of Nos give this much - so somehow I don't quite think the ezxtractors are the same power equivalent of 50hp shot of Nos.
though i don't argue that there is probably a noticeable power gain!!

Mate I'm just going off what the muffler dude said. I asked him how much extra power he said prolly around 15 -30. i was like wow wtf. So i dunno if he was blowing his own horn or what but there is a noticable difference. And i got the Cat bored out too.
I dunno mate, i'll get it checked next time i take it for a tune
I didn't believe it either

15kW max improvement...it wouldn't be 30! lol

I was also wondering... how do i get a little more airflow in the intake without too much changing around. I was quoted to put a cold air intake on and a pod filter but that meant the battery had to be placed in the boot, and i'm not really thinking of doing that?
And same with the snorkel that little pathetic thing! how would i go about relocating it so it's not sucking air through a hole in the chassis
and approx how much am i up for?
thanks
Steve
