coming may or so ill be trying to finish off my first level of my audio install in my car (headunit splits and sub with amp)
i was just wondering what ppl thought would be the best combo for a sub + amp for about $800
lets also remember may/june places are making way for new stock :) which means savings time for me :fruitcake
was thinking the sub should be around 300 an amo around 500, or whatever as long as it fits criteria
what do u currently have? sound deadening? u want to install and make everything urself? how much space do u wanna lose? what kinda girls r u into? i mean...what sorta bass r u into? U could go second hand u know. I say get a 10" and chuck it in a .6cu ft box or something and push 1000wrms+ into it :D Thats what i want to do now, i wanna get rid of the ported 15, lol

what sort of music r u in to??
but a boston, DD, RE, earthquake SUB
and a response amp will do the trick

no sound deadening as of yet, my budget for the sub amp is going o be around 1100-1200 so im leaving about 300-400 for MDF and installing costs n the such
into rap music, any music with big beats really
would like to go 12's for wank value, dont want huge SPL but i want big beats with nice clarity, was thinking of a JL 12w0 (12w1's are coming out in june 12w0 should be around 200 i hope) and an amp for it
main plan when im done with my audio is 2 12's, 2 amps running them (monoblock each), cream vinyl boot install with blue ccfl's and mirror plexi front stage run on an amp back stage my stocko 6x9's run off headunit (for a litle clarity for the back passangers, not like i care that much tho) completly sound deadened
installing all myself with help from a mate
right now i got my alpine cda 9830 and my mb quart splits and stock 6x9's but now im hankering for some good bass, then later will add the second 12 and amp (would like to do it all now but i got lots of servicing coming up so all my money is going into that instead)
u don't really need 2 12s uno :P But hey, its up to you. A box like that, with perspex, vinyl, neons, mdf, screws, glue etc etc would come up to around 200 bucks i think.
1000 for a sub amp ayy..the DD M1 can be had for around that, or a caliber ca2000+. Both these are beefy, very well known and very reliable sub amps. Then u have your e-audios, orions, crossfire, tru tech, diamond and so on. ID maxs are like...what, 800? and IDQs are cheaper at like, 500 i think. Heaps of wonderful subs out there. DD3512 or even two 2512s would be good.
Phoenix Gold Xenon 1200.1 are angry, and go for just over 1K... for around 450 for a Phoenix Gold 12" xenon sub. I like PG. GRRRRRRR
Definately hop on car audio australia if u want cheap good stuff.

eek, 800 for both the sub and amp too... not 800 for each? unless i read ur post wrong
well, its going to be a whole boot so i dunno bout 200 lol but i can build a box just for now, i got all these planes going around in my head i wanna do them now! i looked at Pioneer Clarion Alpine Kenwood blah blah blah because alot of places is all they stock (over east u have a wider range of choice, which i found out when i went hunting for Hertz stuff, which isnt stocked in WA) some palces have nicer stuff, DD, JL, Focal, Dynaudio, Eclipse....
def will look on CAA i was just hoping for a few suggestions
so lets say whats a good sub for around 300-350 and a good amp to power it in the 500-550 range lol :)
and yes eek i kno i dont need 2, but i want 2 for wank value ill draw up a qucik design idea i had for my boot soon
lets not forget ill need a wiring kit too
ppl HIT ME WITH SUGGESTIONS! its mainly the amp too
oh yes an eeky my mate has some PG stuff, they are very nice

Look at VIBE for one of their already Enclosed Subs..
CBR 12 inch Vented Enclosure is around $620 and look the Biz and Sound great and that gets you your Sub and Enclosure..
Look at Getting a Jaycar Response Amp to power it...
If you could gather a little more money I would definately recommend the ultimate in Wank Value would be there Bandpass Stuff especially the AC 12 Twin .. But thats Big Dollars at around $1540 without anything but the enclosure and Subs..
http://www.vibeaudio.co.uk/index.asp?page=p-cbr.html&header=p-cbr-h.html for the CBR series and
http://www.vibeaudio.co.uk/index.asp?page=p-actwin.html&header=p-actwin-h.html for the AC12 Twin..
hey....new jaycar calalogue is out. Go and get that 800w monoblock, then get a phoenix gold xenon 12". Xenons go HARD!@ Image dynamics IDQ 12?
yeah, hell, make ur own box!! otherwise u miss out on all the fun and getting lung cancer later in life from mdf dust lol

Nice!!
I would recommend a Sub that has a Thick Chunky Surround , Alternatively a Set of JVC Strobowoofers would look awesome set up like that !!!
You have mentioned above that your budget for the amplifier is around $500. For a little more you could get something like an Audison SRx3 to run the entire system. See more details here (http://www.rmaudio.com.au/Car%20Audio/audison/SRx/Special_Specs.htm). :D

lol was waiting for u to pipe up FHRX, i really would love to run amps for diff parts of the system, i.e amp for subs amp for splits and headunit amp for rears
While it is a better idea to run the fronts with a two channel and the subwoofer with a dedicated monoblock (multi channels tend to have less THD and monoblocks tend to have more internal capacitance), I'm afraid your budget may not allow for it. :(

my budget right now allows for a sub plus an amp for the sub, that install that i quickly drew up is on the cards, but not for awhile, all up ill be running into about 2 grand around june/july (mmm i love my birthday, and if i quit my job around then too ill get paid out holiday pay which is over a $1000 and rising every week) gunna see if i can get my dad to part with some money for a sub for my car for my birthday but we'll see
when i fniish the audio however i will have a dedicated 2 chan for my splits, and a mono for each sub or a 2chan bridged for each sub or a 2 chan to run both subs, but optimally i want a sub and a monoblock
ooo and im also going full time at my job as apart to part time so that garantueed 38 hours a week instead of my usual flucutating 20-30 hours a week, so more money into audio could also be on the cards

dd2012 and jaycar 800 mono would work... 400rms from amp, sub need 300 would set me back 750 (rrp, who the hell pays rrp these days) so prolly less then 700 in reality.. i just dunno how good the amp is
