Generally they sound like ass... For the price spent on goods.
People don't listen to them, they look at them.
But as said I guess they serve their purpose...

Very true and you never hear them above 50% volume as then you realise the crap that you are hearing. Like the JVC supra, for the money in that ( $61,000 for a Headunit, 4x Pairs of coaxial speakers, 12x 12inch Warren G subs and 2x 4 channel amps, 6x 2 channel amps and custom install ) im sure you can find something better sounding. :gtfo:

Maybe... But what's ur definition of sweet as??? hehe... ;)
You can make any car loud. But imaging, stage height, clarity, accurate reproduction is not as easy. Generally a flat response is boring to most ears straight away. You only realise how nice it is after listening for hours. Speakers that sound impressive to the untrained ear are generally bass heavy or bright (or both). People mistake this for a 'full' and clear response. After listening for a while you experience listening fatigue. Most people enjoy bass heavy music, but if sound quality is the aim you should be aiming for more. Go and listen to a high priced set of dynaudio splits. They will sound boring to most ears. Yet these are arguably the best car audio speakers in the world.
Some of the best systems comprise of horns (HLCDs) 8+" mids and 15" subs with heaps of clean power and eq's galore. I doubt u will see any horns in most show cars, simply because not many companies make them and they aren't attractive.
Once again, show cars serve their purpose they are for display. But since people dont drive them, or even sit in them most of the time (edit: just realised I didnt finish my sentence... that is all :))
Peace
Tim
The Alpine RAV was okay for the day but it wouldn't win anything these days. ;)

He he poor alpine, im sure the Alpine Jazz would win heaps of awards it has 3x15's so it is fully sick mate. Ask FHRX about some of the company cars he has done if they sound good :bowrofl:

:P Well it sounded good to me, we were watching movies in it, was very pleasing to the ears. I do know what nice sound is, to me anyway.
I have heard better but this was about 8 yrs ago, as Marty said. In its day....
