I just come back from the other week of holiday down south at murramurang, where i had to park my car out in the visitors car park as we took 2 cars, i parked it somewhere and then the next day i came out to check on it, only to have my heart broken cos the bonnet was covered in sap from the tree above
i didnt have anything to wash with at the time, but i rubbed on alittle bit and it came off ok...
now a week later and i go to wash the car finally before the dyno day tomorrow in nsw, and i cant get the ***ing sap off, 60% has come off with degreaser and some hard rubbing, but now my back is ****ing killing me, and i still cant get all of it out (looks like its also discoloured the WHITE underneath where it was
anyone know how i can fix this?
just when i was starting to like the magna, this happens

60% has come off with degreaser and some hard rubbing,
  are u insane DEGREASER??
any who there a many products out there to remove tar/sap etcetc just go down to your local auto shop and ask which one they recommend
also try hot soapy water over it with a spunge but dont use dish liquad as thats bad just pour in some proper car cleaner in hot water and rub lightly never rub hard as u screw up the clear coat and leave marks

yer i would never put degreaser on my paint and if i did (some times it sprays on the paint when im degreasin the motor) i wash it off instantly
but yer supercheap repco they all should have a bug/tar/sap remover of some kind

also i remember reading the parent owners manual and it said to remove bugs get 1litre of water with 110grams of dissolved baking soda
worth a try i guess as bugs are just as hard to get off thats why i dont park under trees any more i much rather a hotter car then spending hours on end fixin the paint
edit: just grabed it again also states for removing grease oil and tar spots use a little bit of turps on a CLEAN rag just clean off/wash and polish instantly

Bug and Tar Remover with a Bug/Tar Sponge
Clay
Vinegar
ScratchX
All of the above
If all else fails ur best option is to get some cutting compound. Not the pissy "cut n polish" Make sure its pure cutting cream, then apply a seperate polish..... will remove the sap marks and bring the car up nice and shiny :D

thats pretty much what the degreaser was doing, but ALOT weaker, as the water that was coming off, was milky, from the white paint :P
when degreaser emulisifies in water, it turns white - i know cos i have to degrease the driveway when people with leaky cars come visit :doubt:
