What do you plan on running ?

And how much you pay for it?

I'm not familiar with MBQ amps. But a fan of their splits

My MB Quart splits (front) and Pioneer 6x9 Compression Horns (Back)

MB Quart do make nice gear.

Just looking over the specs the amp looks pretty good. Quite a bit of power too; I bet she's a big amplifier when trying to comfortably mount it somewhere! If I really had to be picky I would say the THD is a little high but now I'm just being finicky.

Good buy. :)

Greetings All.

I think THD is the ability to stop the speaker to reverse direction...basically how accurate the speaker is...

I THINK! :bowrofl:

Total harmonic distortion... 0.5% is high, I would have thought MB quart would be a tad lower, You probably won't even notice it though. (Maybe  )The fact that you have soo much power on tap means that you will be running with a lot of headroom anyway. If you are only driving the amp at ~50% capacity then distortion will be lower anyway, compared to driving a headunit at 80%. To put it in perspective my Soundstream amps are 0.02% Thd (4x110 w rms)
At those volumes in such a small space the ear can't detect distortion. The brain is overloaded with signals so doesnt process all of it. But from a distance this becomes more detectable. Once again you may not even notice it.

Definetly havent bought a lemon, I've just never heard their amps before.

If you're just running the speakers, since you have soo much power on tap just plug one into each channel and be done with it. If you get hungry for more power up front (unlikely), Bridge each channel but the MQ Quartz splits arent too power hungry so I think ul be fine.

Yeah I bet she's not small... But big amps are Phat! What's the foot print like?

That is damping factor you're thinking of there. The damping factor describes the amplifiers ability to control unwanted cone movement. For a very detailed description (saves me writing it out too!) see here champ (http://www.bcae1.com/dampfact.htm). :D

I think ppl can begin to heard it at .5%...but then again, u won't be running it at full vol...and maybe the headunit might add on a bit too. damn sq freaks lol

nice looking amp too

Hi all, i have 6inch MB quart splits and i amjust wondering if i get them amp will they distort ? Mine distort bad at above 20 on my headunit. They are rated at 120wrms though ? what is the problem. Is it just the head unit, and if i get them amped they'll sound good ?

Headunit is distorting not the speakers. Thats what happens when u drive them beyond their limits.

Yes an amp will help you out bigtime. Your speakers should be able to handle around 100 w rms cleanly.
This will see big improvements in your sound and midbass.
