View Full Version : looking to buy a 98 TF

hi,
im looking at a 3.0l 1998 manual TF.
seems in good condition and price is $11000.
is there anything i should look out for with these cars? when i took it for a drive i noticed the clutch starts right on the floor (no room to move, u gotta push it right in to change gear). Is this normal for the TF? my bros old TP wasnt like that.

also what can i expect to beat in this beast? :D
i have my eye on an S13 K's Silvia. its CA18 turbo and had a bit of work done to it (not sure what tho). can i expect to beat him in the TF?

Clutch sounds a bit sloppy but it can be adjusted fairly easily.

I wouldn't expect to beat an s13.

My 5speed manual is for sale from time to time. TF Exec 11/1998. 182K, timing belt just done. 16" AWD mags, tint, CD, spoiler. I was hoping for $7500ish. You can nearly get into a TJ for 11K - auto only though.

i can get an 03 TJ for about $16k but i want a manual.

yeah mate 11k is a bit steep, even for a manual. i wouldnt really wanna pay much mroe then 9-9500 less for auto

i thought $11k was pretty good for it, but then an 03 TJ is only $16k.
the TF has mags and a factory spoiler.

i was sekking 12 for my TF done 80k hot cd player amp sub 6inc front 3way 6x9 3way rear all pioneer pacemaker extractors 2.5inc mandrell bending sports system with cannon K&N perforance filter, lowered on kingsprings it is the sports model added eletric windows all 35%tint. Tiptronic Auto. 4 New tyers so i think they can be knocked right down. and not a mark on it. & curusie controld speed alert aircon. i was asking 12 :nuts:

Personaly i am going to stay with the magna . To great of a car and cheap on fuel oil parts ect

I'm in Newcastle. TF is getting a VRX muffler in the morning - assuming it bolts up neatly. :think:

get the s13 if u want a fast car, get a magna if u want some more comfort in ur life

personally wouldnt touch a silvia with a 50 foot pole, but i would jump into a 180sx
