After seeing the pics of my car at the dyno day (dirty and hail dented to the sh*thouse, and no alloys) I have decided that it must be fixed, and soon. In fact, the tax cheque will be funding this one once I get it back.

As you can see from the attached pic, there is oxidation of the paint on the roof above the rear window, and a couple of 'keyings' down the passenger side. It is extensively hail damaged, and requires new roof, front quarter panels, rear quarter panels, bonnet & boot.

A Talon GSR kit is fitted, but the front bar needs a fair bit of repair. The rear spoiler needs work as well, courtesy of the hail. I also don't like the way it does the rear bar (ie- there isn't one), so the whole kit may be changed.

I am looking for ideas on the paint scheme and colours for my car. Note that this will end up as my other half's car, so it cannot be too far out there. But we are talking a respray,

I have been toying with going the hyper-lemon yellow route, with black alloys of some description. However last night I was watching 'Pimp My Ride' on MTV and they resprayed an old cop car with a House of Kolor gold on the bottom half, and black on the pillars/roof. Looked hot, so it got me thinking.....

I am now thinking about yellow (possibly with gold flake or something) from the bottom of the A pillar, on the roof, and then blending down the C pillar to a 'Pacific Blue' style blue (maybe Blueprint Blue from Ford, or even something closer to Pineapple's shark colour blue) that would be below the sills...

Then I am thinking of a jagged Red graphic down the side (might go a vinyl for this).

Any comments or other ideas appreciated.
Will try to do a photochop of it when I can, or if you can photochop an idea you have, post away!

If its for your girlfriend id go something like candy apply red with silver fleck through it..

mixed colours and vinyls would look tacky.. especially gold/yellow blue and red..

Dunno, she likes candy apple red, but she thinks yellow would be good. She's fairly adventurous when it comes to paint. It just can't go to massive flakes or marblizer or anything like that. I really like that pulsar with the marblelized blue paint, but the missus thinks it looks like the painter fcuked it up....

So something that stands out is okay.

here are a few photochops i did on booya (when it was still original colour) to give me an idea what i wanted - ultimatly, i chose the gold - but for everone' elses sake - its remarkly close to my "original dream"

Also i seriously thought of the "acid rush" from the falcons, and a deep purple, or something.. anyway, have fun with these..

oh, and the time stamp the last time i played with these so you know i didnt just make em up today.. "Last mofified: Friday, 8 November 2002, 4:44:28 PM" - right clicky and got some of the file propertys

oh, and the Original pic, the bodykit was just sitting there - it wasnt attached, so it was held there, - i didnt drive around with funny body parts :P

Hail damage costs a fortune to fix, I got a quote to fix mine the other day and it was at least 4500 bucks...more likely to be in the 5000 area which would include a full respray of the same colour, shell only.

If your gonna go for a Paint Job, I have always liked Black with a Very heavy mettalic flake..

Midnight Blue Metallic always looks good but if you want the Ultimate Paint Job then photoshop is your Friend

Virtual paint Jobs are alot cheaper then getting ones done at the paint shop....

So experiment and see if it will look good on screen before commiting money..

I was quoted about 8 grand for all panels & trims, plus beating where required, and a respray in whatever colour I wanted. A second colour will only cost minimal over that... The paint shop here wants to do a special job and do a sponsorship deal...stickers etc....

I am going to source all the panels myself, I can get them cheaper from a secret supplier than the panel shop can!

I just have to come up with the colour & design.

As far as a Sponsored paint job goes, I would want a major discount on $8G for them to put Company logo's all over my ride..

I would save the dosh and just do it on your own... Take your time, as long as your wheels go around who cares if it looks like a Teenager with severe Acne...Its a Magna they look good even in Fluoro hot pink...

Fair enough :) you'll save more if you do the remove and replace yourself too...usually it's quite substanstial..might be worth looking into.

It would just be 2x small stickers on the car... and I would only pay 50% of the labour cost. Materials at cost price too.....

I am gunna do the Bonnet, Boot & front quarters myself (fitting anyway). Due to the way the roof and rear quarters have to be done, I will let them do it.... much welding and file finishing......

I am hoping to get away with it for around $5500......
