When I replaced my head unit in my TE i lost control of the light dimming in the rest or the dash. I am going to install a new HU in my Verada but I want to avoid this happening again. Any ideas what wires control the light dimming or if I have to ground anything??? Any help would be great.

there is a wire behind the HU for dimming of your unit aswell. The dimming is only controlled by a variable resistor and putting in a new HU shouldnt affect it..... unless you didnt connect the wiring up and its just flopping around. i dunno

I cant see how a HU would affect you dimmer... :doubt:
Even if you connected the light wire from your HU to it, it should still work...
Nothing else would have any affect on it.
Did you connect it back up after you pulled the consol apart?

There is apparently a wire that goes to your HU that connects it to the dimming system somehow. I'm not sure how it works but I assume it lets you dim your stereo (at least the stock one) along with the rest of the console.
If you managed to misconnect this (or perhaps not earth it or something) your dash lights will no longer dim.

You haven't used the dimmer sensor wire as a ground wire, have you?

The wire that comes from the mitsu stereo loom for the dimmer should either be plugged in to the Dimmer of your headunit or taped up so it doesnt make contact with anything
I've posted the wiring diagram a hundred times. should be around somewhere.
