You dont....they are not serviceable. They seldom wear out but it is not unheard of.

Generally, most aftermarket (non factory) balljoints (and futhermore - tie-rod ends) have grease nipples. If it has a grease nipple, you wont miss it.
If they are original, or standard replacement balljoints... no need, as the last guy said - they are unserviceable.

in gen2's i have found the front end knocking is usually either the struts or the inner and outer rack ends.

to find a steering rack knock jack up the front end, one side at a time and shake the road wheel against the steering to produce the knock.
The outer rack end (tie rod end) is a right angle rod end at the back of the hub, the inner rack end is a ball joint with a tie rod this is on screwed onto the end of the steering rack and is inside the rubber boots on either end of the rack.
A noisey rack is heard when driving, in gen2 as a bang on bumps that sounds like it's coming from right at the firewall and it's higher than the floor. If it's sounds like its from further forward then it's probably the valves in the struts failing.
if you replace steering parts get a wheel alignment done afterward.
